Carson Wentz is a journeyman now (Colts undecided)

He's been overrated since he left college.

He'll hang around for a few years and still make many more millions.
I have been saying this since he was drafted.

His mechanics were horrible coming out of college and after he started working on them, his performance got worse.

Ok your Indy you get rid of Wentz now what ? Who’s next in the bullpen the draft is thin at QB unless you go the FA route. Who ?

Teddy Bridgewater maybe ….the QB free agents are really a mediocrity . Before the Colts are one and done with Wentz Frank Reich might want to give it another crack next season . He was his QB guru in Philly .

Hopefully he journeys over to Dallas. They could use a QB who can actually throw the ball.
You remind me of the so called fans that insisted Phil Costa would be a quality starting center.

Now if I'm Jerry and looking at the Colts, I'm thinking they need more WRs. Sign that QB!

The answer to the first, anyone. Bridgewater, Minshew, anyone. They do have the cap space for Wentz, so they could do as you said and give it another year. But if the general consensus over there is, we can't even make the playoffs with Wentz, how do they justify a 28M cap hit for 2022? You're not going to have much of a drop off from Wentz to Minshew. Why pay 28M? They're probably better off drafting one of those crappy QBs and going 3-14.

That said, since they already have a 15M dead cap if they cut Wentz, they may go with him for one more year for that reason alone.

Minshew is vastly over blown. Would rather go with a heathy Bridgewater out of the list of FA QB’s available. I can’t figure out exactly why Bridgewater can’t stick with one team two or three years. He would have been a natural fit to take over after Brees not sure why the “genius” of Sean Payton didn’t see this .

I saw a clip of Colts GM Ballard talking after the loss in Jax to end the season . He looked highly perturbed over it. If for no other reason the draft bounty you gave up in Philly might give it one last try with Carson .

I think Doug Pederson is going to shock the NFL I’m predicting 9 wins next season challenge for a playoff spot if Khan the owner can stay out of the way they have some pieces to build on in Jax

I think he should get a shot in a better situation. I don't think he's some great QB, but we all know what Wentz is by now. We really don't know the potential of the mustache. All of these great QBs usually have great teams around them. You don't see any of them taking the Detroit Lions roster to super bowls.
