Very Early first Try at this years Draft Class:

2nd Round Pick (58 Overall)
Juan Thornhill, FS, 6-0, 202 lbs, Virginia

Along with his instincts, Thornhill shows good range. He covers a lot of ground in the deep part of the field and possesses the speed and athleticism to get to the sideline from the middle of the field on deep throws. Thornhill has nice hands and high points the ball well. He is a threat to pick off 50/50 balls, and in his pro career, he could produce some nice interception totals.
He is a true pass-coverage free safety who could serve as a single high safety and a reliable centerfielder to lock down the deep part of the field. He also could handle some man coverage against slot receivers and tight ends. Thornhill's pass-coverage skills are tough to find.

In the ground game, Thornhill has some issues with missed tackles from time to time. Still, he will flash sometimes, firing downhill to make some good tackles in space. He is a willing tackler, and some of the missed tackles can be coached out of him with NFL expertise. Some team sources say that Thornhill's willingness to tackle is encouraging for him to improve that issue, and he is not one of those defensive backs who avoids tackling or is hesitant to get physical. After some time getting coached in the NFL, Thornhill's tackling could no longer be a liability.

3rd Round Pick (90 Overall)
Chris Slayton, DT, 6-4, 309 lbs, Syracuse

Slayton was probably the best player at the East-West Shrine. He dominated in the pass-rushing one-on-ones, using speed, leverage, and strength to consistently get the better of the offensive linemen. Slayton also showed the ability to play a variety of techniques on the defensive line with versatility to fit any NFL defense. The athletic Slayton does a fantastic job of staying low and playing with good leverage while also utilizing the length that comes with his frame.

Slayton totaled 24 tackles with eight tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 2018. As a junior, he notched one sack and 28 tackles. Slayton had four sacks as a sophomore.

4th Round Pick (128 Overall)
Jace Sternberger, TE, 6-4, 250 lbs, Texas A&M

Sternberger was a surprise early-entry for the 2019 NFL Draft, but he had a big 2018 season for the Aggies that would have been tough to duplicate if he had returned for his senior year. In 2018, he totaled 48 receptions for 832 yards and 10 touchdowns. Sternberger did not play in 2017 after transferring to Texas A&M from Kansas.

He could grow a year behind the HOF TE Witten and is already better than any other TE the Cowboys have on the Roster not named Witten.

4th Round Pick (136 Overall)
Austin Bryant, DE, 6-4, 270 lbs, Clemson

Bryant had 43 tackles with 14.5 tackles for a loss and eight sacks. He was a solid defender for Clemson, but clearly not of the same caliber as the other three starters on the Tigers' defensive line.
According to NFL teams' preseason data provided by team sources, Bryant checks in at 6-foot-4, 268 pounds with 34.88-inch arms, 9.13-inch hands, and a wingspan of 82.13 inches. They have him running the 40-yard dash in 4.75 seconds.

Bryant was the fourth member of Clemson's super star defensive line in 2017, and he did well cleaning up a lot of the disruption caused by Clelin Ferrell, Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence. On the year, Bryant totaled 8.5 sacks with 50 tackles, 15.5 for a loss, one interception and two forced fumbles. Some sources were high on Bryant, while others say they graded him as late second-day prospect heading into his senior year.

He could be a nice Replacement for Irving or the Pot Head as he is able to rush the Passer and showed it against Top College O-Lines.

5th Round Pick (165 Overall)
Karan Higdon, RB, 5-9, 205 lbs, Michigan

Higdon ran well at the Senior Bowl showing quickness to hit the hole and accelerate downfield. He then ran well at the Combine (4,49), turning in a fast 40. Higdon does not have the size of a three-down starter, but he could be a quality backup and change-of-pace back. In 2018, Higdon averaged 5.3 yards per carry for 1,178 yards with 10 touchdowns. He also had seven receptions for 43 yards. Im a Michigan Man and this Kid has great potential as a Change of Pace Darren Sproles Kind of Back.

7th Round Pick (241 Overall)
Jackson Barton, OT, 6-7, 310 lbs, Utah

Barton was a swing-tackle backup prior to his senior year. For the NFL, he is a late-round candidate to develop at right tackle. Barton has good length to him, but improving his pass protection to handle speed rushers is the point of emphasis for him. He has great measurements to become a Backup Swing Tackle in the League if he works hard.

Not bad but I disagree about Thornhill's tackling being an issue.

Love the Austin pick,, though I doubt he'll be there in round four.

Looks a pretty good haul. I need to do some homework on the DT. The lack of tackles is a bit concerning, how does he look against the run?

He’s a good player. Plays with power and is fairly athletic. Syracuse does a lot of stunts with their DL and he was successful with many of the twist stunts etc. Good against the run
