Round 2 Pick 56
SS / Jalen Pitre / Baylor / 6'0 / 195 lbs

While 2020 was impressive 2021 was insane as Pitre put up ridiculous numbers for a DB. He had 75 tackles, with a massive 50 stops, a 61.1 QB rating when targetted, 5 QB sacks, 2 QB hits, and 18 hurries -- all outstanding. Pitre was rightly awarded with a First Team All-Big 12 place, a Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year spot, and was named a finalist for the Thorpe Award, given to the best defensive back in the country.
  • Pitre is an incredible athlete at the safety position who can do-it-all with elite speed quickness great leaping ability
  • Has supreme speed and can get to the ball carrier in a flash. Pitre can patrol laterally and regularly blows up screens with outstanding range
  • Excellent as a short and intermediate zone cover safety
  • Played the “star” position in Dave Aranda’s defense - a hybrid safety that could play outside linebacker in most 4-3 schemes
Round 3 Pick 88
DE / Myjai Sanders / Cincinnati / 6'5 / 255 lbs

  • Sanders was a two-sport athlete. He was a semifinalist for the 2020 Bednarik Award.

  • He is known for his explosive first-step and ability to jump the snap. He combines his first step with long arms to maneuver around opposing OTs.
  • He is effective on twists, games, and stunts. Improvement holding up against the run is needed. Myjai Sanders has a quick first step off the ball.
  • He can reach the top of his rush within two steps. He has tremendous short-area quickness. This allows him to put pressure on OTs to get into their pass set quicker than planned. He fits the mold as a pure speed edge rusher.

  • Has good footwork and technique. Balanced and agile pass protection set with excellent hand placement.
  • Needs to work on his technique in pass protection, using more consistent leverage and continuing to move his feet.

  • Good instincts and anticipation reads and reacts with discipline. Dangerous with the ball in his hands.
  • Aware in the red zone, stays on the back line to take away fade throws. Capable of making quarterbacks pay for late throws.
  • Inconsistent getting off of blocks. Can be a step slow to react when a quarterback comes back to his side of the field late in progression.
  • Needs to tighten his angles in pursuit. Needs to show better tackling technique to consistently finish.
Round 5 Pick 167
OT / Jaxson Kirkland / Washington / 6'7 / 310 lbs

  • Kirkland has an excellent football pedigree and is the Son of ex-Husky and NFL player Dean Kirkland. Despite standing at 6' 7" and being a standout high school player he was only a 3-star recruit, but given the opportunity, he jumped at the chance to play for his hometown Huskies.
  • He played tackle in high school but switched to guard as a redshirt freshman where he started all 14 games. As a sophomore, he made 11 starts but missed two games with a leg injury.
  • In 2020 as a junior he switched to left tackle where he excelled on a quality offensive line that helped the Huskies reach the Pac-12 Championship. Kirkland finally received some well-deserved recognition and had All-Pac 12 honors as a result.
Round 5 Pick 176 (COMP)
TE / Isaiah Likely / Coastal Carolina / 6'4 / 245 lbs

  • Likely was recruited to play wide receiver by some colleges out of Everett High School in Massachusetts, but Coastal Carolina said he could grow into a tight end -- where his NFL lies.
  • As a true freshman, he tied for the team lead with five receiving touchdowns while playing in all 12 games as a reserve. In Coastal's breakout 2020 season, Likely ranked 10th in the FBS with 20.0 yards per reception (30-601) in 11 games with eight starts, playing through a lower-body injury that required surgery after the season.
  • His draft stock rose again in 2021 as he tied for eighth in the FBS (and led all tight ends) with 12 receiving touchdowns. Likely was a first-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection with 59 receptions for 912 yards (15.5 per rec.) in 13 starts, helping CCU get its first-ever bowl win.
Round 6 Pick 192 (from CLE)
WR / Danny Gray / SMU / 6'1 / 182 lbs

  • Has elite speed and cutting ability and good hands and toughness. Lacks the ideal size, but has a similar body type to Antonio Brown.
  • Balanced, savvy route runner with top field awareness, setting up and selling routes beautifully.
  • Fluid athlete with explosive burst and speed to stretch the field and breeze past defenders. Has a quick first step and gets to top speed in a hurry.
  • Has very good initial burst to beat coverage at the line of scrimmage with the quick-twitch moves to redirect in any direction and create separation.
  • Plays fast and confident. Covers a lot of ground in the short half of the field and is slippery after the catch. Combines speed, balance, quickness, vision and crisp cuts to leave defensive backs and linebackers in the dust.
  • Does not always use his hands to secure deep throws, allowing the ball into his pads and chest.
  • Doesn't have the size to consistently win on the outside, but can be productive working the middle of the field and as a return man.

Isn't that a little high for Neal?

Might be but hes my #1 3-Tech in the Draft and thats where i see a huge need as he can play also multiple positions on the line.

There arent many Run Stuffers that can also rush the passer on a high level.

No thank you. Starting Broeker at LG and Sanders at DE is a debacle waiting to happen. Adding Neal to our other JAG’s at DT doesn’t help.

Excuse me, what is "rare" about a 6-4, 285 lb DT? Eric Johnson of Missouri State is 6-4 and 297. Per one draft site " Johnson has leverage and quickness for days. During NFLPA and Senior Bowl practices, he won reps with an extremely advanced array of glorious spin moves, rips, swim, handfighting, bull rush, & even a dip and rip where he got his 302 pounds about 2 feet off the ground,"

Jordan Davis, 360 lbs and runs a 4.78 - 40, that's a "rare combination".

That report had to have been based on projecting him to DE.
