Claiborne and Carter are the two biggest surprises/disappointments I've seen in a long time. I thought they would be decent players at a minimum, and most likely leaning towards excellent... it's not too late for them to turn it around but it sure doesn't look encouraging.

Mo has not been a bust. He can clearly cover people and play man coverage.
It was always known he needed to add size and strength.
He might have been the best ball threat at CB since Deion coming out but he didn't come out at 6'1" and 205.

The issue with Carter is they missed on his skillset. He can't cover. They gambled on an injured player and just missed. It happens.

Mo and Carter are both legit NFL players in the right schemes and situations.

Sometimes it takes guys time to get to the elite level. Mo might well mirror Joe Haden.
The average experience for NFL CB last year was 6.x years. PP was the least experienced guy and he was 3rd year.

In the long run Mo is a far superior player to Carter but he certainly has a long way to go to justify his selection.

UNC listed him as 235 for his final season. He was a high school safety.

He's probably playing 20 pounds above that now.

Whatever the case he clearly can't cover NFL caliber skill athletes and hasn't since he entered the NFL.
His last good coverage tape was when listed at 235 and before he tore his ACL.

Without good coverage ability, he couldn't play a Rod Marrinelli defense at middle linebacker. That would still leave a large hole up the center of the defense.
