Cassel to Butler

I do not expect Dez to play. In the passing game, the Giants will focus on stopping Witten and Beasley, like the Pats successfully did. Butler is our lone deep threat, Cassel much more likely than Weeden to look deep, and Giants depleted secondary does not match up well against his size/speed. Expect him to have a big game.

Williams isn't a deep threat?

Williams is a deep threat and both tight ends up the seams can be large play makers also.

He hasn't been so far this season. Outside of one fairly long play against Philly (thrown by Weeden), I don't recall any others. That said, he is capable of being a mild deep threat, IMO.

If he can cut he can go... Until I hear he can't cut I believe he plays 88

Until I hear he can cut I believe he sits. I really think it's going to be one more week before we get him back. Oh, how I would love to be wrong on this.

Everybody get your 'the Butler did it' tshirts while you can.

You can't stop him. You can only hope to contain him. But then Matt Cassel steps out on the field....

We hear hes medically cleared, but we haven't heard if hes cutting or how he responded to yesterday... I am wondering if they are keeping it under wraps to throw the Giants off.. Wishful thinking I'm sure, but if this is a pain tolerant deal i don't see how he doesn't suit up

I thought the same thing...I have a feeling JG knows right now what the likelihood of Dez playing is, but I think he'll end up saying "game time decision" just to keep the Giants in the dark. Personally, I think his lack of conditioning keeps him out one more week, but I don't know much about much, so we'll see.

I think the Pats and every other team since Romo went down has had a main focus of stopping the running game. Stopping Witten was next. The rest was easy.

I agree with that... Do we know when he actually started running? I mean if he plays he doesn't have to play every snap so the conditioning could be minimized

I could be mistaken, but I think I read that he did some straight line running starting last week (I want to say around mid-week). If that's accurate, and I think it is because I can't imagine them allowing him to run at all before getting medically cleared, then I just don't see how he could be ready to go this week.

Just some body catcher from Baylor who bailed out some guy from Cleveland named Weeden during the Saints game.

Forgot that guy was even on this team.....haven't heard or seen him play in a while ......he must be like the magic man....now ya see me, now ya dont......lol

Well we did see Butler make that one big catch against the Saints and I was so excited. Then of course he pulled his hamstring and didn't score. It's just been that kind of year. At least he gives the Giants someone to worry about going deep
