I heard on NFL Network tonight that Cassel already signed the 1 year franchise tender that New England slapped him with.
Now I'm not real clear on the franchise stuff so could someone explain to me how this effects New Englands cap if they trade him or what have you.
I know if they keep him he's a 14 million cap hit this year, on that one year deal, but if they trade him does that stay on their cap or does it go away and the other team takes it till they sign him to a long term deal to reduce that hit? How does that all work out exactly?
