- PICK NO.
27
BYRON JONES
CB

Jones would fill perfectly into the Cowboys' defensive scheme.

Workout warriors are scary.
If you believe he is only a workout warrior.
I have read or viewed other people saying they have went back to the tape and he played as fast and looked good on tape as well.
Byron Jones is such an Oakland pick at the top of the 2nd. Mark it down.

Thing is though, he was not considered much in the way of a first round choice until he blew the top off the Combine. He carried draftable grades until then, but nothing close to what he is now.

For example, back in November he was viewed as a 3rd rounder by NFL Draft Scout.

He was considered a second round grade before...he is considered a second round grade to late first round ground. Not that big of a jump for a player that was good in college, played fast in college and also did great at both the pro day and combine. This is not the Campbell OT from Maryland that did not look very good in college but tore it up at the combine. This is not Dontari Poe that did not look impressive in college but looked great in the combine. One wound up being nothing later...the other has turned about to be a pretty good player. I don't see Byron as being that big of a jump.
I think Jones going at #27 is a bit high.
