I'd rather take Eric Kendricks than Jones at that spot. Collins would be huge, but I don't see them going OL again in the 1st.

Workout warriors are scary.

If you believe he is only a workout warrior.

I have read or viewed other people saying they have went back to the tape and he played as fast and looked good on tape as well.

He was considered a second round grade before...he is considered a second round grade to late first round ground.

Not that big of a jump for a player that was good in college, played fast in college and also did great at both the pro day and combine.

This is not the Campbell OT from Maryland that did not look very good in college but tore it up at the combine.

This is not Dontari Poe that did not look impressive in college but looked great in the combine.

One wound up being nothing later...the other has turned about to be a pretty good player.

I don't see Byron as being that big of a jump.

Byron Jones is such an Oakland pick at the top of the 2nd. Mark it down.

Thing is though, he was not considered much in the way of a first round choice until he blew the top off the Combine. He carried draftable grades until then, but nothing close to what he is now.

For example, back in November he was viewed as a 3rd rounder by NFL Draft Scout.

Al is dead...I don't know if they draft based on Speed only anymore.

With that said if they go WR in the first they might be looking for Olineman as well...maybe enough that some fall to us and we can work on a trade with Oakland.

I don't think Jones is so much a workout warrior than a guy who just got more attention after his workout.

If this is the pick I hope we have plans to move him to FS.

Because he played at Connecticut. The Combine just put him on everyone's radar.

I don't claim to "watch tape", but apparently his game skills are pretty legit. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a 1st round pick after everything I've read about him.

The media draft analysts just miss on some players early in the process. For example they often have underclassmen significantly underrated until around the combine time. For Jones, missing the 2nd half of the 2014 season probably affected the analysts to some extent.

He looks good in game footage and I don't know why some analysts questioned his athleticism because it seemed obvious on the field.

The other issue is that the level of competition for UConn football was not that high.

I think Jones going at #27 is a bit high.

I agree but he isn't going to last long in rd 2

I think Obama should sign an Executive Order preventing the Browns from drafting another QB. That is just so wrong for them to ruin another young man's career.
