Twitter FarkIt Type Size A A A Quentin Castille, the highly touted tailback who transferred to Northwestern State from Nebraska, has left the Demons, saying he plans to enter the NFL supplemental draft.

Castille spent just one disappointing season at NSU, working mostly as a backup to William Griffin. Castille rushed for 349 yards -- averaging 3.3 yards a carry -- and one touchdown on 107 carries in 11 games. He also fumbled four times.
"I can't really talk about the situation at Northwestern State," Castille said Friday when reached by phone. "I made the decision to leave. I think the best decision for me is to enter the draft."
NSU coach Bradley Dale Peveto said Castille made the decision after the two of them met.
"Quentin worked hard for us while he was here," Peveto said. "We enjoyed having him here. We respect his decision and wish him well in his NFL career."
Castille arrived at NSU on Aug. 28, six days after he was dismissed from the Nebraska team by coach Bo Pelini for an undisclosed violation of team rules.
"It was my fault," Castille said after arriving at NSU. "I made some bad decisions and violated team rules. I did it to myself."
Castille was battling Roy Helu Jr. for the starting tailback job when he was kicked off the team.
"We have guidelines, we have policies set up here, we have a culture set up here," Pelini said in a statement after dismissing Castille. "It's pretty black and white, my expectations that we lay out as a staff, and if somebody doesn't follow those policies and guidelines, they're no longer going to be with the program. And that's the case with Quentin.
"I wish him luck. He's a good kid. He's just not going to be with our program any more."
Pelini, a former LSU defensive coordinator, encouraged Castille to consider Northwestern State, where Peveto was entering his first season as the head coach. Pelini and Peveto had worked together at LSU.
"I trust coach Pelini totally," Castille said last August. "He basically set it up for me to come here."
Castille's surpassed 100 yards rushing in only one game for the Demons, running for 118 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries against Grambling in the second game of the season. Castille finishes his college career with 1,159 yards rushing in three seasons. He ran for 810 of those yards in two seasons at Nebraska.
The NFL draft is April 22-24. Castille will not be eligible for that because he missed the filing deadline for college underclassmen. A supplemental draft will be conducted in July.
The NFL began conducting a supplemental draft in 1977 for players who missed the deadline to declare for the regular draft or lost their college eligibility after the draft.
There are typically a handful of players in the supplemental draft. Teams, selecting in the same order as the regular draft, either pick a player or pass. A team that selects a player in the supplemental draft forfeits the corresponding selection in the following year's draft.

He may need to try Canada. He would be lucky to get a fa offer and that looks like a stretch.

O/U on time until he fails a drug test?

Kid is incredibly talented. Big, and can really move. Watch the Gator Bowl highlights against Clemson to see that. But this guy has HUGE red flags due to a drug addiction.
