Taylor, TX - A Taylor police officer had his patience tested recently when, during a routine traffic stop, a black cat used him as a jungle gym. The incident was caught on the officer's dashboard camera and has been making its way around the Internet.
According to the Taylor Daily Press, Officer Keith Urban stopped a SUV on CR 112 near an old farming lot and other older buildings.
The paper reports that the vide shows the cat strutting around the stopped vehicle as the officer talks to the driver and starts writing a ticket.
Video footage shows the cat rubbing up against the officer, then growing bold, attaching his claws to Urban's leg and climb up to his shoulders.
Later in the video, Urban gently removes the cat from his body when the cat interrupts his writing.
Officer Urban continues writing the ticket as the cat works to climb back up his pant leg. It works itself up to the officer's head.
Through all this, Urban remains calm and finishes writing the ticket. Once he's done, Urban gently moves the cat away with his foot and rushes back to his squad car.
According to the Taylor Daily Press, the police chief would likely have never known about the video if Urban never mentioned it.
The paper says Urban mentioned the video to the chief because he was concerned that he may have injured the cat. He apologized to the chief for his behavior.
Urban told the paper that the incident did not bother him, but the driver thought it was funny and tried to help him out.
Taylor Animal Control visited the site to look for the animal, but it was nowhere to be found, reports the Taylor Daily Press.
