CB Andre Dyson (Jets)

The Jets are said to be dangling cornerback Andre Dyson as trade bait as they try to acquire a veteran left guard to replace Pete Kendall. The 28-year-old Dyson started 15 games last season, but the Jets seem comfortable inserting Darrelle Revis at left cornerback despite the first-rounder missing 20 days of training camp as a holdout.

Columbo is an OT and our starter. Spears is a DE. They want a veteran OG.

Why would we trade Colombo? He's our starting RT.

I would not give Colombo ..... then what would we do? Spears would be interesting .... but do they need a DE?

They apparently want a guard, and probably don't think Procter/Berger is worth it.

Would we dare offer both Spears and Procter/Berger? How 'bout swap Spears for Kenyon Coleman, Berger for Dyson.

Sounds good to me...

Or maybe a three way trade--Spears to somebody for a guard to the Jets to Dyson for us.

It does smell like Dyson is coming this way. How could we cut Glenn otherwise?

they actually picked up coleman a few months ago. they just released von oelhoffen and now they have ellis at LE who is not a 3-4 DE. maybe they would be interested in spears. i still don't know why we would release glenn all of a sudden...then you add in the stuff about spears being traded...smells a little fishy

The Jets FO were absolute morons on the kendall situation - playing hard line (see, we're just as tough as the NE FO, just not as smart) with a producing player who was not asking for exorbitant money - just what he had been promised.

But NOW the concern is with protecting pennington, after a frightening display of oline incompetence all preseason.

They'll be looking at Rivera soon - that's how scary it is.

Haha... don't act like you knew Colombo was an OT.

The article said they need a guard... and your first instinct was to offer our STARTING RT, under the assumption that he could make a smooth transition to guard on a new team?

If the Jets want a starting OG for Dyson, we don't have the vet player they'd want. Maybe, a 3-way trade in the works with another team who has an extra vet OG, would be receptive to one of our (hopefully 2nd day) drafts picks & that OG acceptable in Jets then cutting Glenn makes some sense.

Only problem is that the Cowboys haven't done a 3 way trade unlike Broncos and a few other teams who seem to do it occasionally. But this is probably wishful thinking on our part.

Maybe we trade them koiser, and start McQ?
Apparently Berger and Procter are still on the squad, along with McQ, the rookies, and the 5 OL starters.

If the Cowboys were going to trade Kosier, the Cowboys likely would do just what they did today with their OL.

And during one of his press conferences a week or two ago, Wade observed that Kosier was the only guy in the OL who isn't huge and physically dominant.

It's an interesting idea.

ugh. alright, i thought colombo and spears were playing guard. you got me now.

besides who do you think is starting for them righ now at left guard? a rookie who played right tackle in college. he doesn't even have the size to play guard. but go ahead, mel kiper jr.

Agreed, giving McQ the starting job would probably be the sexy thing to do.

I doubt that the Jets are getting many bites for quality starters, Procter or Berger might be something they would explore. They might be looking at our film as we speak.

McQ played guard in college. But the plans to try him at guard blew up when Colombo had his surgery. I really doubt that either Berger or Proctor are worth much.
