Senior Bowl
South injury update. #Georgia DB Brandon Boykin is out.

I guess initial reports said that he was going to need immediate surgery but he has since come out on twitter and said it wasn't as bad as they thought and called it a "minor" setback.

4th you know the Pats will take him then, so you better get him then....

And they'll all say what a shrewd, genius move it was.

Get him late.

This is great news. Although bad news because it almost assures that we'll have to make a trade/move for Jayron Hosley now.

So it's not a "broken leg" then is it? I don't think a broken leg could be considered only a minor setback like they're saying now.

Thats what I'm thinking. 3 weeks? Highly doubt it's broken.

On another note, that same article I found the tweet on says:
" He’s interviewed with more than 10 teams, including the Falcons, Dallas, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Carolina."

And:
"
Boykin is listed at 5-foot-9 1/4 and 183 pounds.
“I can’t do anything about my height or how I was born,” Boykin said. “But what I can do is show my drive and determination. I can control all of that. Just giving 100 percent on every play has got me to where I am today, and I’m going to continue to do that.”

How can anyone not want this guy to be a Cowboy?

Guy broke his leg.. GREAT NEWS!

Want that guy so bad. Would be cool with him as a 2nd round pick at this point.

Heck, if he drops to the fifth round, that could be a blessing for us if it works out in our favor. I would take CB Omar Boldin from Arizona St. in the fourth, Boykins in the fifth, and use rounds one thru three for other positions of need.

He made himself some money in Mobile this week. I could see him skipping the combine and just working out at Pro Day.

Maybe now it's safe to put him back in the 3rd round where I felt he belonged. He was quickly headed for the late first or early second of this draft.

The guy is an explosive athlete.

His coverage skills don't seem to measure up.

If the Cowboys dropped a 2nd round pick on a corner, I'd like one with the 'look' of at least being a #2 corner on the team.

So you don't think he will slide beyond the 4th even with the injury? I agree that he had boosted his stock greatly before this setback.

I would be shocked if he fell past the 2nd let alone the 3rd round.

He will still be able to preform at his pro-day from the sounds of it and that should be enough to keep him in the 2nd.
