Sounds like a drive-by on Lewis. I think Lewis will be a Cowboy next season regardless of what happens because the FO shouldn't be in the business of letting solid football players go especially CBs.

Hope Bland lights it up. Would like to see KJ n Mukuamu get some snaps also.

Bland is a better player than Joseph, but needs time to develop more before he's a better DB than Lewis or Brown.
No he is not.
I find it astounding..do people not think a guy that close to getting life in prison could impact his play on the field? Like are we serious right now?

KJ is a first round talent that understandably fell due to character concerns (we see why)
Bland will be good but we need to pump out brakes

We'll have to see Fat Man play on defense first .. Bland has overtaken him in overall play time and 3rd CB role at this time.

Thus far special teams has been Boss's biggest contribute this year.

Bland is better in the slot, but when we played him on the outside in the preseason, he hit a few bumps. When Diggs went out of the game temporarily, it was Joseph who replaced him, not Bland. When Lewis was out, it was Bland who replaced him, not Joseph.

I didn't bring up the off field issues, why did you? That's not the argument. Joseph, when given opportunities isn't very good and makes low football IQ penalties. Doesn't seem to be a real fav. Sure he's pretty solid on special teams, but a 2nd rounder should be starting. Why isn't he?
He can be trash and make dumb decisions off the field and still be mediocre on it.

That might turn out different with a week+ of practice. It will be interesting.

Inside CB. Out CB. It's not that hard of a concept...

He wasn't trash on the field. He was ironically our highest graded Cornerback last year, and he got a lot of reps. He for sure isn't trash on special teams...also look around..our defensive players tend to get a lot of penalties. Those penalties are dumb. He will eventually be starting. I believe them (coaches) seeing that despite this off season issues and him not starting that he'll still play hard won them over. It shows he wants to compete, and honestly I thought he would mope around.

Our veteran CBs have been pretty darn good the last few years so losing Lewis is going to hurt. Hopefully our pass rush can continue to take some pressure off our defensive backfield.

He's trending toward a 2nd bust from the bench.

Imo, depending upon the scheme, role and coverage responsibilities ...it's usually a harder task for the outside that has to cover more ground, than
inside the slot to which it's usually more confined and limited than the wider range outside.

Different skillsets. I wouldn't characterize one as easier than the other per se.

When Diggs missed a few snaps this season, Joseph replaced him.
- When Lewis was out, Bland replaced him.

Kelvin Joseph might have good physical ability to play inside; however, he lacks experience playing there.
- Many coaches like to have young players focus on 1 position.
- They clearly had Bland focus on playing inside and Joseph focus on playing outside in camp.

Kelvin joseph believers are reminding me of Trysten Hill believers. Joseph prob has one more shot to prove he's not a bum
