-----You don't have a clue how good any free agent will be? Name your serious free agent acquisitions and lets see how good they end up being.

Huh? I'm not crazy about ANY of our FA acquisitions. For once in a decade, I'd rather remove all doubt and go after top Free Agents then continue to throw S against the wall like small market MLB teams do with Pitching Staffs, hoping that out of 15-20 guys some polished turds will fall in their lap. SEE RAMS...SEE SUPER BOWL. SEE COWBOYS...SEE PARALYSIS. 26 years and 3 Playoff wins and you are happy with our FA acquisitions? After 26 years, what is the risk of going all in? The Rams showed us what the reward is. Lets face facts...until Booger and Chuckles are 6 feet under, we ain't sniffing any Super Bowls.

The Rams have won all of one Super Bowl in Los Angeles in their entire history. Watch what happens to the Rams going forward. What free agents would you be crazy about?

The Cowboys are going all in with their youth movement. They believe that these young players are better than trying to win with older players. I think that they are going to do well.

Let me get this straight. So you wouldn't trade places with the Rams, and win a Super Bowl in year ONE by going all in, because you are more concerned about how it might affect our future years?????:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

JC Jackson didn’t make it because he didn’t have 11 picks, it’s a hugely outlying number. Just leading the league is not the same thing as being the first player in 40 years to have double digit interceptions. He earned his all-pro selection because of the picks, everyone knows that. He most certainly didn’t earn it from his coverage skills.
Huh? I’m missing your point on JC Jackson…why didn’t he make All Pro?

They don't have to be "that good".

Because the Cowboy, Giants, and Commanders aren't going to be "that good" either.

The Eagles have the best overall roster then in NFC East on paper as of today. They did before they signed Bradberry.

I think most of us would rather win a Super Bowl and contend then just be one and done….

Oh so because he only had 9 and not 10 that’s why he didn’t make it lol?

Yes, there’s no question.

Russell Westbrook won league MVP only because he was the first triple double since Robertson, not because he’s one of the worst defensive superstars of his generation, not because he led his team anywhere (which is an unspoken rule for MVPs) or was an efficient scorer.

Lebron led the league in points, minutes played, but he *only* had a 27-8-9. Not a nice clean triple double, so everyone voted for Westbrook. Absolutely pretty statlines that are historically significant get big press that impact voters. There’s no question.

He was a starting CB on the all pro team yet NFL.com had to put a disclaimer on why he doesn’t make their top CB list due to his unusual circumstance:

https://www.nfl.com/news/why-patriots-coaching-titles-don-t-matter-plus-nfl-s-top-five-cornerbacks

Despite leading the league in 2021 with 11 interceptions, the third-year pro does not make the cut due to the boom-or-bust nature of his game. Diggs surrenders too many big plays and must reduce his burn rate to earn a spot among the elites.

(Which oh by the way is exactly my argument as well)

Because of his issues in coverage, PFF has him waayyyy down the list:

https://www.pff.com/nfl/grades/position/cb

Needless to say he’s a noticeable omission on
Their rendition of the all-pro team:

Commedia:

https://www.commmedia.psu.edu/commradio/story/the-top-10-cornerbacks-of-2021

Don’t always believe all the hype. Diggs
was unreal at garnering takeaways, with a league-leading 11 interceptions; that’s the sole reason he cracks the top five. Yet, he had many glaring issues all-around. He epitomized the ball hawk prototype, but the balance was not there whatsoever.

Audacy:

https://www.audacy.com/sports/nfl/pff-analyst-diggs-ints-hide-one-of-worst-ever-cb-seasons

capping his analysis with a gut punch of a take: the interceptions hide what has been one of the worst cornerback seasons we've ever seen.

this isn’t just a random non-cowboys fan spouting something on a cowboys board, this is a common opinion outside the Dallas echo chamber. The All-Pro nod was an award for his statistical anomaly. It’s the first time in NFL history the CB who gave up the most yards made the pro bowl, much less the AP first team.

All Pro trumps anything those above publications say. Anyone who watches Diggs play knows he’s one of the better corners in the league and he doesn’t shy away from guarding the best player on the opposing team.

We’ve gone from “one of the best” to “one of the better ones.” Now I dont disagree with that, he’s above the median. But him seeking out the best WRs doesn’t necessarily indicate anything, even bad corners have the ego to continue to do that

All-Pro trumps in the fashion that it represents his statistical achievement from 2021. He got 11 picks and no one can take that away from him, but this began as a conversation of why Slay’s reputation is built on deeper bedrock than Diggs. In 2016 when Matt Ryan was first team All-Pro, did you throw your hands in the air and proclaim, “That’s it! He’s better than Brady, better than Brees, better than Rodgers!” Or…. Did you say he deserved it for the statistical season he had, but beyond that it doesn’t change much of anything in the grander context?

The things that made Matt Ryan not be elite cropped right back up. If Diggs doesn’t set more interception records in 2022, those coverage grades will begin to appear more and more glaring.

Why does a mediocrity wearing Giants colors going over to the Eagles green & white merit so much ink stain on a forum ? Glad we didn’t bring him to Frisco to check out the surrounding housing market and the buffet line at the STAR ⭐️.
