Anyone else as suprised and disappointed as i am that this kid was cut?

Especially at CB, i thought he was a guy that showed very good potential and played well while he was given time in the preseason. I would have liked to see him make the team for sure and feel like he deserves special mention. I hope we are at least able to sneak him onto the practice squad and keep him in Dallas.

No, I'm not surprised. You knew they were only gonna keep 5 or 6 CBs. They like Ball and McCann has played well. If they had kept 6 I still don't think Butler would have made it. I think that spot would have gone to Josh Thomas.

But I agree that the guy has talent and I'd like to see him on our practice squad.

He'll probably get invited to the practice squad.

I think one of the things that limits him is that he isn't a very good athlete for a CB. I don't even think he ran a 4.6 in the 40. He will need to be perfect in his technique and reads to play in this league so he will need some time to develop.

I saw a couple of plays in which Mario had his guy covered like a blanket, but he never looked back for the ball. That may be very hard to do, but I think he is well worth keeping on the practice squad.

Agreed! I think it also helps that McCannn proved to be a good ST player. :starspin

Mario has the drive, but not the abilities right now. YOu give him a year on the PS, let him come back next year, and he can push ball or if newman is gone, push Thomas and make that 5th CB

Every year there is a guy who looks pretty good in the preseason games to us fans, and you want him on the team. However, he got cut based on what the front office and coaches saw on film of those games, and what they saw in many practices. I would like to see him go to the practice squad and get a chance to develop, but I have no doubt he shouldn't be on the 53.
