Our CB depth is beyond atrocious right now and starters aren't so hot either outside of Scandrick. Carr and Mo could both be gone next year. What can we do about the position? No one is "worth" #4 according to pre-draft rankings other than Jalen Ramsey, who many say should be a safety and is likely going in the 1st 3 anyways. All other top prospects are looking to be taken in the mid to late 1st like William Jackson III, so pick 34 is looking very light on CBs as well. Once you're in the 3rd round the talent seems to fall off a cliff.

Are there mid round choices that can be worth the pick? Are there late round sleepers? They likely will be projects that take time to acclimate. If any of our top 3 CBs gets hurt, there's going to be a huge problem. If we don't get Ramsey, is CB at 34 an extremely high priority then?

I imagine we'll get one in the first 3 rounds just based on our depth chart.

If we draft Joseph then we might keep Jones at corner.

Then we'll have Carr, Jones, Scandrick, and Claiborne along with those journeymen who came in and played well down the stretch.

They don't seem worried about CBs based on their visit lists. They have Hargreaves and thats it. Seems their focus is on QBs, the DL, WR, RB and a late RD OL.

Carr, Claiborne and Scandrick are good enough....and Delatoye and Mitchell looked decent in duty late last year.

I like Hargreaves but he is a top 10-15 pick most likely, Apple is probably 15-25 range and then Alexander appears to be a late first, early second guy. Artie Burns of Miami is a guy I like and Xavien Howard but he is climbing boards from what I have hear.

A lot of the mid round guys are better suited for slot corner.

In 5th round or later, Justin Burris of NC State is a guy to look at, has the size and was a four yr starter in the ACC. DeAndre Elliott of Colorado St is another guy with the physical tools to be decent. Morgan Burns is a decent corner prospect and is a great KO returner.

Ultimately I think we don't look at a corner until those late rounds to be honest.

This is another area where you think that trading down in the first gives you a shot at getting an extra quality player.

I was a big fan of William Jackson, but when he was a 3rd to 4th round prediction. This "taking him in the 1st" is crazy to me. Check out Sean Davis from Maryland in the 3rd. They're predicting him to transition to FS, but I think he'd make a capable NFL CB. Very smooth athlete! (Quick note: I'm a Terrapin fan, so this is a bit of bias)

Turned out fine in 2014, without Morris. Was fine last year too, we just couldn't get in the end zone.

I still like BJones better at CB. That gives us plenty of depth and the reason I would have cut Carr and paid Weddle or Gispon for FS. If we don't get a QB I can see us taking Ramsey at 4.
