What do you folks think about signing Springs to a reasonable 1 or 2 year deal and then draft a CB with our 22nd pick.

To me with all the variables involved with Hall it just seems prohibitive to the salary cap to add a veteran?

Springs would be a stop gap at best and he quit impressing me when he was still in Seattle.

That's what I'm hoping for.

Springs could play for 1-2 years and give time for our rookie draft pick to assume either a starting role at CB or the number 3 role.

I'd prefer to do that than give a Round 1 pick and $10mm/year for Hall.

It is exactly what I want us to do rather than sell the farm for Hall.

Actually Springs might be better then Hall anyway. Certainly a lot cheaper.

I don't see why we even have to get a veteran at all. Just draft a corner in the 1st.

:hammer:

We can draft a corner in the first then another later in the draft and we're set for a while.

pass on springs was only good in seatlle and those days are far past him
I could go for getting Springs for a year or two. but we still better draft a CB in the first round.i want the guy out of Troy, or the guy out of south Florida.we should also look at the strong safty spot.

I would rather sign a vet and draft a CB very early than trade for Hall. I think we need two solid additions to the CB position because we have nothing after TNew and Henry.

I think some of you guys are down on Springs because he has some stink of burgandy and gold on him, and while I would tend to agree with that type of thinking, I think Springs can still play. He would be a wicked #3 CB.

He has had some injury concerns, but as a #3, I can't think of anyone better. I would MUCH MUCH rather do this than get DeAngelo, who I wouldn't touch at all.

As stated earlier, it would also give whoever we draft a little more time to assimilate to the NFL game by being a #4.

I agree with your post. but i think Springs would start and Henry will be the 3RD cornerback. the 4th corner would be a number one pick, who could start if needed. you move hamlin to SS, and Get a FS. and this secondary is set.

I agree with you regarding Henry but not on the Hamlin to SS stuff. Henry will be at best Dallas' 3rd CB by November/December of next season. I think if Springs signed or Florence signed they would start over him and if Dallas gets McKelvin, Jenkins or Talib, they would assume the starting job by late next season.

Upgrading the CB's is a must. Dallas has one very good player at the position (TNew) and an average often injured #2 CB in Henry with nothing behind him to even push him for playing time. I'm not for the DeAngelo Hall move but anyone that can come in and push Henry for #2 be it a vet or rookie, I am all for it!!

One caveat...........................Springs needs to be released first. THEN we can start talking.

My only issue is this guy would still leave us, basically, still needing ANOTHER corner in 1-2 years. So we'd only be doing something for the very short term. If we're going to get a vet (And i agree i dont know that we need to) why would we get one that is only going to give us 1 to 2 years, at best, at the corner position?

My thinking is we are playing for a SB over the next 2 years and need immediate impact not all youth at CB.

i think the cowboys should bring springs in. hes not going to be very expensive. i would rather see springs playing than reeves.
