I have been unable to find any kind of stats so I am hoping somebody can post it for me. Statistically speaking who had the best stats at CB last year?

Reason I ask is in my opinion TNew had a killer year and is one of the best if not the best in the league.

Stats wise some would say Vasher because he had more ints.

Yeah but that is 1 stat I would like to see how many passes were caught on him and the yardage he gave up. That is a more important stat to me at least.

Last I remember from Adam is Newman allowed 2 catches for 20-25 yards per game and 0 TDs for the year

It's a shame that INTs are the measure of a CB. Newman covers so tight that the QB doesn't even bother throwing his way so he doesn't get the INTs. Therefore, he doesn't get the recognition that guys who can't cover half as well get. One of the great paradoxes of the league.

That has to be the best in the league.

Same deal with Deion in his prime, Newman should have went to the pro bowl no doubt! He is the best corner and he should be even better in 2006!!!

Lets build a list of the top CB's last year not in any specific order then one of the stat Gurus can compare them.

Ty Law
Nathan Vasher
Champ Bailey
Deangelo Hall
Ken Lucas
Terrence Newman

I miss anyone?

Maybe whichever CB in the league had the most pass attempts on him, the CB on the other side of the field should be considered the best! :p:

Newman was great last year, but there is NO way to determine the best CB in the league.

If a guy has a lot of INT, maybe opposing teams threw at him a lot because he plays opposite a great corner. Or maybe he played in a division with Favre & Harrington (Vasher).

If a guy doesn't allow a lot of catches or yards, maybe he plays opposite a chump so opposing teams picked on the other guy and barely looked to the other side.

etc...

Bailey is the best when healthy. I think Newman is in a class with guys like Hall and a few others, just a notch below Bailey. Rashean Mathis is another guy who's very good, along with Shawn Springs - when healthy.
