Filed to NFL Network: This set of meetings will wrap up today. Next set of meetings between NFL, players starts on Tuesday in New York. ...

I'll repeat that I think @RonBorges always has a good handle on "labor" talks but if you can't handle the truth....

Smith, Waters, Morey and DePaso are out. De: "We'll continue to meet next week and goal is to get a deal done."

NFLPA's Richard Berthelsen, Jim Quinn, Ira Fishman just left. Wouldn't even say if it's for good, but I'm told some players departing soon.

On-site producer Eric Lundsten with the line of day: "If Jerry's declining comment, it must be a serious gag order."

Owners in room don't negotiate players' deals. Players in room don't negotiate their deals. Yet we're counting on these groups to do deal?

After 15-hour summit yesterday, NFL talks went less than 3 hours this AM. "We'll be back at it" next week, league negotiator Jeff Pash says.

mortreportChris Mortensen
RT @Nublar7: @mortreport @jeevans100 Do you think a deal next week is possible? >> Possible but unlikely. #neverknow

AlbertBreerAlbert Breer
... Also, I'm told, Boylan wanted talks to keep going at 1 am, but the sides were so fried, they stepped away. Optimism building a bit.

... It's to the point now where next week, it might not be a major stumbling block if the rest can be worked out. Huge rebound.

Filed to NFL Network: Owners and players made major strides on the revenue split last night & this morning, after talks nearly broke down.

NFL Players feelings of disrespect by Owners from back in March returned yesterday. Emotions calmed today, focus returned. Ebb and flow.

... Things can be good, go bad fast. And you can be in a bad spot, wrestle out of it quickly. Buckle up. Could be a bumpy week or two ahead.

Let the last 24 hours be instructive -- There are gonna be ups and downs. Things can turn around, in either direction, in a hurry. ...

Heard from NFL Owner side: "Much work still to do." Heard from NFL Player side: "Lots of work still left to do." Agreement on that.

AlbertBreerAlbert Breer
Another nugget I can pass on: A lot of the murkiness/bad blood over what constitutes "all revenue" was worked out over the last 20 hours.

AlbertBreerAlbert Breer
... But that's part of the process too. Everyone w/a vote has a say. Better that problems are aired now, rather than have a deal voted down.

OK, the pessismistic view on sides progressing to solve the revenue split -- No telling whose hands will be in the cookie jar next 3 days...

RT @gridiron2150: @mortreport so let's say they agree by the 15th will the preseason b affected? >> No, I don't think it would be affected

cbsdollarbillBill Jones
sounds like NFL owners/players consider July 15th (2 weeks from today) to be drop dead day to play all pre-season games

AlbertBreerAlbert Breer
... May take until around July 15, when "real" deadlines come. But this is a critical time. Get past those deadlines & we're in big trouble.
