They're good. Period RT @Barton1331: the players holding this up and possibly pissing off a lot of owners, couldn't that hurt them in FA?

Greg_A_BedardGreg A. Bedard
Story is up on the Mankins-Jackson situation. The NFL is going to dig in. Only the whole season hangs in the balance. http://bo.st/qFFdLL

Settle free agency, and come into my lair, said the spider to the fly.

You lawyers out there (@adbrandt, @SportsLawGuy ), can two plaintiffs in a class-action suit hold up the settlement?

adbrandtAndrew Brandt
Request for special treatment of Brady plaintiffs one of those "it doesn't hurt to ask" issues.

@Greg_A_Bedard Thanks Greg. They can opt out of class but can't hold up settlement.

thats true but would you want mankins and chargers wr jackson to hold up the cba because they want total free agency, and other players are ready to sign?:starspin

Tell SD and the Pats to take one for the team. That is fair.

Nor does the NFL appear inclined to pay the players $320 million in lost benefits from the uncapped year. Have to see if anyone budges.

The league does not seem willing at the moment to make a concession on use of franchise tags as part of the lawsuit settlement.

Kevin Kolb for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie? That's the deal according to Mike Jurecki of XTRA Sports 910 AM

... This isn't Manning's first time being franchised. He was tagged in 2004. So rule would have to be "going forward" it can't happen twice.

AlbertBreerAlbert Breer
As for the "one-time" franchise tag thing ... League won't allow deal that makes Peyton Manning free immediately. But what's interesting ...
