Good stuff. I loved this: "To watch the Cowboys offense right now is to witness history."

Also, crazy to see Robert Griffin III in so many of those stats. He seemed like he was on his way to cement himself into the NFL with a great career. What happened? Shanahan ruin his career by rushing him back from his injury? Sad.

Couldn't stay healthy + ran a gimmick offense.

Once the gimmick was figured out it turned out his game was pretty shallow. And he had a horrible lack of leadership skills by all accounts.

Thankfully, Dak appears to be the complete opposite.

This does seem unreal.

Then he makes another cool calm play under pressure.

Few things about RGIII: he played in a gimmick offense that caught NFL defenses off-guard at the time and he simply never evolved as a QB in terms of developing how to read the nuances of reading through progressions and coverages.

Heard Mike Lombardi break him down not too long ago saying Griffin's game is basically predicated on the quick read/throw and taking the predetermined shot down the field. In other words, he comes out of the huddle knowing who's getting the ball.

This is a good article. Many of these plays, Tony hits for huge gains. And it's the reason that many say that if Tony were starting some of our close games (Eagles and Steelers) wouldn't have even been close.

That's my biggest worry about moving on from Tony this year. That we'll end up making the playoffs, Dak will struggle and we'll end up going home when I really feel like we could compete for a SB this year.

I'm not saying I'm against the move to stay with Dak. Not at all. I get it. However, if the best QB on the team is on the bench, then you're not really giving yourself the best shot at a SB in a year where it seems like we could actually win one.

He did run a gimmick offense and wasnt a good qb, but i think his knee injury had more to do with his collapse than being figured out. Of course an injury was inevitable in that gimmick offense.

I hear you but it's the line you've got tow; the team is playing like a well-oiled machine right now and you don't want to muck it up by changing out a key cog (i.e. Dak).

Beyond that, let's think about it. This is almost a lose-lose situation for Romo. He comes in and struggles and fans will berate the franchise and call for the quick hook on Romo. If Romo comes in and we continue to win but lose in the playoffs, the masses will lament "why'd we take Dak out?!?!"

IMO, the only way this plays out in Romo's favor from a perception standpoint is if Dak gets hurt and Romo comes in. Romo would then be benefited by the fact there was no alternative and that he was put in as a necessity, rather than a coaching decision to replace Dak.

Over half-way through the regular season and they are describing Dak's play with words like "transcendent" and "one-of-a-kind". I still can't believe this is happening. This season has been thrilling to watch.

The knee injury certainly played a role but when he came back the following year and the offense changed, he never adapted and butted heads with the coaching who were ironically trying to preserve his career.

Shanahan made Bob's career by designing an offense he could run.

His comp% would be over 70 if his teammates didn't drop several gimmes throughout the season......but hell, wentz would be at about 90% under the same consideration.....since all his passes and drops are glorified 5-10yd hand-offs

This doesn't make sense. Inferior players do not make teams better. If Tony was some sort of basket case, I might could understand. But he's not. He's a clear leader.

The criticism of Dak has been very interesting, last week against Pitt, some Zoners were saying that his passes were off. He ended the game completing 22-32. He only missed on 10 passes, completing 68%. A 68% completion percentage is excellent in this league. For every poor throw, Dak made 2 sensational completions, i.e. his TD pass to Dez or his pin point completions to Witten late in the 4th.
