CBS: Eagles GM Roseman looking to make 'big swing' for star Browns pass rusher

I don't know if Roseman can pull this off, but there are a few indicators that suggest he might be able to.

Washington has a load of cap space, but they also have many areas of their roster that need upgrading. They need a #2 and #3 receiver. They need to upgrade three or four of their OL positions. They need another DT for starting and another one for depth. They could get three or four solid players for what it would take to get Garrett. I don't believe Garrett puts them over the top.

Andrew Berry, the Browns GM, worked with Roseman in Philly for a year. They are on good terms.

Every GM in the league saw Barkley walk away from the Giants without the Giants receiving any compensation. This is the type of screw up that cost people their job.

Andrew Berry signed off on the worst trade in NFL history.

Garrett simply wants out of Cleveland.

The move on a fan level is a question but not an emergency for the Eagles...pick 32 does what?

The Commanders are more likely than the Eagles IMO........their owner admitted he expect a strong free-agency.
The Commanders are in great position to advance from a spectacular 2024 season and their biggest weakness is arguably up front on defense. They have the cash and competent Ownership

Roseman already said don’t expect a crazy offseason. Highly doubtful this move is made.

With the way their cap is structured going to be nearly impossible to add him.

Maybe one a one or two year deal. But Baun is about to be locked up. They have Carter and Davis to lock up in a few seasons.

Like I said, I don’t see it happening. Unless he takes a small deal with a huge cap hit early
Expect the unexpected but I tend to agree. I think Washington would be more inclined to do the trade. I think Myles is all world but a high first for a man turning 30 is tough. I feel this board would have a melt down. Joey bosa is supposed to be released. He can be an alternative option.

Can someone on here share a link from the Browns saying they are trading him? No one is getting him if he won’t be traded but keep speculating about it like it’s a given.
last I heard is there is a standoff. Garrett will not accept a new deal there and the Browns are saying they are not going to trade him

Garrett trade is going to take 2 #1's
Browns would be fools not to do such a trade but then they are the Browns

2 1s are nice. But the 32nd and likely 28-32 the following season isn’t as nice

"the Commanders already have $82.2 million available in salary cap space this offseason, so they'll have enough free money to give Garrett a new contract if they were to acquire him from the Browns. "
So wash and phil will be active in FA while jones boys may be on their yacht lol
Barring a major sophomore slump by Daniels, this team could very well take another step to being in the SB. You pointed out the cap room they currently have, not to mention the room they can free up if they do choose.

Garrett I assume we're talking about? He doesn't scare me. Tyron will stone him at the line of scrimmage Tyler Guyton with a little help will dominate. This move by the Eagles if it ever happened which I doubt is not scary. Garrett is old and washed up almost food
"Old and washed up" Myles Garrett had double digit sacks last year (14) for the 7th straight year and a career high 22 TFLs.

Honestly, I doubt we are in the mix for the simple reason that our brain trust is stupid.

So if he goes somewhere else I much prefer he not be in our division.

I think that if the Browns were to get smart about trading Garrett he would get those two firsts from several teams; all of them better than what the birds have.

Washington is a real thought; or should I say nightmare.

Because winning a SB is not enough for a real GM. While the cowboys are content of just fielding a team.

Browns steadfastly saying they won’t trade him and the Eagles pretending to consider a deal is driving the price up for the team that eventually acquires him. All by himself he can cure a lot of ills on defense for the Commanders. He won’t be with Philly or Dallas next season.

Bosa is only one year younger and has a more significant injury history.

The dude is still in his 20’s and has 60 sacks over the last 4 years. Hes not just in his prime, he’s playing at a historic level right now

This opinion couldn’t be further from the truth

They are rumored to be pushing hard for a receiver. Don’t know if they trade big draft assets twice in one offseason
