TV drama Jericho has been axed by network CBS over its dwindling audience. The series - a portrayal of America post-nuclear attacks - has attracted a small, devoted group of fans, who begged CBS bosses to green light a second series last year after unimpressive viewing figures. Part of their plea involved sending 40,000 pounds of peanuts - a reference to a line of dialogue uttered by the show's actor Skeet Ulrich - to the broadcaster. CBS responded by commissioning seven more episodes - but audience numbers have continued to plummet, forcing the network to make Tuesday's show the last. Spokeswoman Nina Tassler says, "Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program. We simply wish there were more. We have no regrets bringing the show back for a second try."

The first season was good, but I didn't get to watch much of the second season...

look for it to end up on Scifi theyve already started showing reruns and it seems like a good place for it.

Part of the reason the viewing is so poor is that they painted themselves into a corner at season 1 end because they didn't think the show would be back. Didn't leave them alot to work with going into season 2

Well this sucks. Hope they did enough to "End" the series.

I love the Sci-Fi channel. It's on my favorites.

We just picked up On Demand here in Anchorage last week. On Demand has a lot of options. I wonder if this cuts into video store rentals?

Why drive 5 miles to get a movie when you can get the latest release on On Demand for the same price?

If you look at the petition for Jericho its now been changed ffrom CBS to the Sci Fi channel

I have the new hd-dvr from direct and it does video on demand via download. They have thousands of shows to chose from and all I did was hook up a gaming modem to the box and on the home networrk, easy as that. Between that and bit torrent I never rent anything

Because I get better picture quality when I go get a movie, and I get extras and what not. And I only live 1 mile away.
