1:00 pm Look for something to have to give in the Meadowlands on Sunday. The Cowboys are fourth in the NFL in total offense, while the Giants are fourth in the NFL in total defense.

12:50 pm Cowboys coach Wade Phillips on why teams like the Giants that are desperate to win do so well: "Teams are usually highly motivated when they are desperate. You really want your team to be motivated and you strive for that weekly."

12:47 pm Cowboys coach Wade Phillips thinks his squad has had two of its best practices of the season the past two days. Phillips thinks what is on the line against the Giants has focused his team.

12:36 pm Cowboys S Ken Hamlin again did not practice, which means S Alan Ball will be making his third start against the Giants on Sunday

Dallas Cowboys coverage on Bleacher Report

Ball is a little better in coverage and a little bit less so in run coverage. We'll still do well defensively unless we turn the ball over too much.

Yes, i think the key in this game will be the play of romo not turning the ball over like he did the first game this year. Also, how the offensive line plays, with the whole team cutting back on penalities.

This is one of those times we agree completely.

Not lately. That stat is still living off those first few games this year.

What's more important is that our offense is 14th in scoring (23.2PPG) and their defense is 24th in scoring (23.7 PPG) and our defense is 2nd in scoring (16.5 PPG) and their offense is tied for 8th in scoring(24.7).

Nothing as insightful as the old 'look for something to give...' routine. This one has particular irrelevance becuase the G-men have been atrocious on defense for 6 weeks, so having the 4th rated defense means almost nothing in this game.

they only use yards, not ppg.

The New York Football Giants rank 23rd in the league, allowing just under 24 points per game. The Dallas Cowboys rank 14th, scoring right around 23 points per game.

That would lend itself to suggest based on nothing more than an eyeball test that we would score at least 24 points, since they are capable of giving it up and the average would suggest we are capable of scoring more than that.

It's going to come down to if we can protect the football, and keeping up the defensive strength. Points will come against the Giants.

How many practices a year can be "one of our best practices", honestly just stop saying it it's meaningless.

Every single one.
