That would be silly unless we don't sign a cb in free agency. Why get a first round corner that won't even start?
BPA?

I don't think it ruined the 1st round. It seems TJ Watt is starting to rise up boards. If he has a decent combine then he could earn 1st/2nd round grade. Same for Ryan Anderson.
i guess soBPA?
Watt is bigger than Gregory was soooooooooooYou plan on playing those guys at DE?
Watts frame leaves him with room to grow. I wouldn't start him at end tho. I think Mayowa and Irving or Lawrence(if hes healthy) are the starting ends next year. Watt provides some versatility. He can play at SLB for the handful of downs we actually play 3 LBs and rush from the weak side on passing downs. Hes not my 1st choice but i wouldn't be upset with the pick if he does show he has the athleticism. You plan on playing those guys at DE?

DO you think our future at RE is already on the roster in Charley Tapper? I have gone back to watching his tape and reading his scouting reports. He could possibly be another Maliek Collins in that his draft stock was ruined by a defensive scheme switch. Seems like he was very productive as a 4-3 end.Think about this for both of them though. Paraphrasing Bill Parcells when he was coach: "The history of guys going from up to down isn't very good."
Talking about guys going from college LB to pro DE. We see the opposite but very, very rare to see a college LB become a pro DE. Charles Haley is one and that's back when offensive lineman were much smaller.

From the last report i heard is that Tapper is down to 260 and said he is feeling the best he has felt in a long time and that he has a little more bend. I hope he can stay injury free.He was going to start from what I understand until the back issue came up. Knowing our coaching staff they view our DE's as Lawrence/Irving, Tapper/Mayowa. Draft depth guy in 4 or so. If Lawrence's and Tapper's back issue flare up you have Crawford/Irvin at SDE and Mayowa/Depth guy at RDE. I'm thinking a guy who is a pure RDE candidate that has the quickness and ability to bend but needs to add size/strength to play the run like Darius English. Nickel pass rush guy in 4th round.

I like Darius English. Hes being slept on right now but after combine and pro day, i wouldn't be surprised if he earns a 4th round grade. Josh Carraway out of TCU could be another option. Mid round rotational Speed rusher.
Its what I'm starting to think. This will probably lead to a Corner back in the 1st. I think TE is out of the question after OJ Howard bowl performance and The only WR with a chance of slipping to us is Ju Ju Smith-Schuster but i can see him being taken a few picks before us. Possibly a DT if we move on from McClain. Carlos Watkins could be an option. He had a very good season. 8.5 sacks on the season with 2 more against Ohio State in the playoffs is pretty good for a DT who was being called a run stuffer and not a pass rusher before the season started. He and Collins could make a great duo inside. Would be a big boost to our run support as well.Wow...and Tapper was a freak athlete at 270. Hope we hit on him. I'm of the opinion most of our improvement on D will come internally. Improvement from Tapper, Jaylon, Irving, Mayowa, Collins, and AB. Even Lawrence...he better have more than sack next year.

Trust me. I would much rather have his teammate Cordrea Tankersley. I think the 2nd round will be full of WR, RB, and Safety picks. Maybe Watkins flys under the radar and falls into our lap in the 2nd.IMO I think they'd rather have a 4th CB who is a future starter than a 1T. Playing money ball. 1T isn't on the field that much and we know there is a good chance Mo/Scan will miss games.

I would love to know more about his back issue. I've researched it and it seems like he can have a full recovery but there seems to be some mixed opinions out there on this type of issue.DO you think our future at RE is already on the roster in Charley Tapper? Carr will be a free agent. That would be silly unless we don't sign a cb in free agency. Why get a first round corner that won't even start?
We are going to sign somebody obviously so we'd have our top 3 guys imo.Carr will be a free agent.
Claiborne will be a free agent and can't be counted on to stay healthy.
Scandrick might be trending towards an injury risk type of player and his ability might be declining a bit.
Brown looks good for the future, but the others all have limiting issues. Taking a CB in the top 3 rounds seems highly likely.
The biggest issue is that Brown is likely the only one with a chance to be an elite CB at some point. The upside for the others is limited. Maybe Claiborne, but he has never stayed healthy in 5 years. He has never played all 16 games in a season and he had only played 3 pre-season games prior to this year. That is 3 preseason games out of a possible 16 in his first 4 years. We are going to sign somebody obviously so we'd have our top 3 guys imo.
