Rookie DL Sean Lissemore suffered a strained groin two weeks ago and hasn't practiced since. But Lissemore said Wednesday he expects to return to practice by Saturday when the team begins the second part of camp in Oxnard, Calif.

Wade Phillips said he expects the first-teamers to play "a little more" in Thursday's game against Oakland. Last Sunday in Canton, the starters went just one series on both sides of the ball.

WR Dez Bryant is still wearing the walking boot for the high-ankle sprain he suffered on July 30. Bryant will likely wear the boot for at least another week, and he isn't expected to return to practice until the last week of August, at the earliest.

Does Lissemore have a realistic shot? Seems to me the drafting of Brent - esp. the game he had playing with basically on hand - makes Lissemore more of a camp body.

true, Lissemore really has to show something when he comes back, what cowboys might try to do, with lissemore not being able to show too much, try to stick him on PS (practice squad and let him develop), because remember next year,

Spears, Hatcher and Bowen will all be free agents, you wont be able to sign all 3,
plus Free, Baron will be free agents, along with spencer i think, and if cowboys dont sign austin, he will be a free agent too

cowboys wont have to much money to sign all of these players, so one defensive end will either be traded, or not resigned;

The drop in play from the top five to those below them in the defensive line is significant enought that none of the starters or DE rotations are going anywhere. Just won't happen around contract issues for this season. The battle is for a singler or at most, two slots on the 53 man roster and a practice squad slot. That leaves five to battle, with a shot at one probable slot. The supplemental draft tackle is making a strong case to move in on Junior.
