CBZ40: A Sad Bit of News For The Members Here... Cbz40

Wow! I hate to hear this. I don't think I've ever HATED anything more than I hate Cancer. Prayers to Mr. Parkhill's family, and may you rest in peace, CBZ40. :(

Wow, that's a major downer. RIP, Cbz40.

I move to rename the Daily Zone after Cbz40.

My original post in this thread cannot even begin to explain how sad I was to get this news. Most people in here would not know this, but Cbz40 was my Jiminy Cricket, my conscience on this site. I asked that of him when he joined the staff here. I told him to tell me if I was ever out of line with posters when I got in a heated debate.

Oh boy would he tell me I was out of line. It was always funny when he did it, but he meant it too.

I have the phone numbers for the staff and for the last couple of months I have been calling to check on him, but he always wanted me to give him some space. He actually felt guilty that he wasn't well enough to get up every morning and post Cowboys articles in the Daily Zone for you Zoners. I assured him that we wanted him to get better and not to worry about it.

That was the kind of man he was though. He was willing to search for news and he was willing to jump my butt and jerk my chain. I know a lot of people get offended by me when in a debate because I have such a good time arguing my points. Cbz40 always brought me back to being a nice guy because he was so danged nice.

You know, I think Pops was one of a kind. No one else on this forum is quite like him. I valued his friendship and his wisdom more than I have the ability to say.

When I was talking to his daughter and she told me the news she told me they had tried to find my phone number so they could call sooner. Now I'm feeling a bit guilty that I didn't call sooner, but he had asked me to be patient and give him some space.

I talked to him just a couple of days before he died. He was weak, but he was joking, and he was determined he was going to win the fight with cancer. I posted the news in the Mod Zone for the staff and then I literally had to step away from the forum and breathe a huge sigh of relief. He meant that much to me.

Today's news hit me like a ton of bricks. Someone said they feel like they've been kicked in the gut. Me too. He was so much more than a friend. He was someone I truly look up to. He was a great man and an asset to this forum that we can never truly replace.

I said before we will be doing some kind of tribute to him. We just need some time as a staff to digest this and figure out what that tribute will be.

He deserved it. This man truly deserved every good wish you are all expressing. I asked him if I could post a thread about his illness and ask you for your thoughts and prayers. He told me he didn't want any of you to worry about that with the season coming.

Yep, right in the gut.

What horrible news. Early mornings here will never be the same without him.

RIP, Pops. :(

Shocked....absolutely shocked. I don't know what to say.

I am so sorry to hear this.

What a gentle soul. He will be so missed. I read his guestbook. He touched many lives w/ his music and teaching.

God comfort you Pops.

RIP

Dallas

RIP CBZ40 :(

Cowboyszone is like a family and this males me very sad.

Pops was awesome and truthfully way too young at 65, he will be missed, what a class act!!!:bow::(

I was looking at some of Cbz40's old threads and found this. I hope he doesn't mind having it reposted now.

MY Last Will & Testimony: (A Very Ruff Draft)

Now before all of you get your hopes up, this document will not be sent to the power of attorney for reading for quite sometime. It’s simply this, I was advised by my attorney that you are never too young to at least write one ( A Will). So here goes:

In memory of post number 10,000.

On my passing Cbz40 will bequeath (for you ding dings.. that means “I will give”) the following items, or whatever, to these my dear friends ( in most cases), enemies ( very few), and too those that are envious of my wit, charm, good looks, and intelligence(All):

Reality: My shredded copy of “my agenda” ( private joke) plus my mod permit (bronzed).

Juke: my good looks…..he needs all the help he can get….just look at his avatar. My collection of 4 & 8 track tapes…..many oldies but goodies. (WARNING: play slowly because if played at a rapid speed they may turn to dust).

Brainpaint: My collection of “78” records. Get past the scratches you got it made. I would have given you the 33’s but my 1st wife threw them at me….needless to say they are unplayable

Hos: autographed pictures of John Wayne and Nors….. And my promise to put in a good word for you.

WG: Woody…….

Duane: My Golf clubs……hope you don’t mind the wooden shafts. With practice you’ll do fine.

Dale: Nothing, but my little black book ( do some research and you will have some real good stories)……. Nevermind… you have all you need so……go get it.

Michael W: My autographed picture of Drew Bledsoe. A Map of Texas. And a thank you note: for all the laughs you have given me, esp. when I needed one. And a picture of me..lol

TB: My autographed copy of “Tales from the Dallas Cowboys”

Yeager: My gators

LaTunaNostra: The ability to summarize.

InmanRoshi: My secretary……to help w/the recaps.

Alexander: My book of “one liners”

AdamJT13: My crank & tape type calculator……You never know, the lights could go out at any time.

Yakuza Rich: an extra 300mgs of memory for your CP……you may need it for more of those great poat.

Rack: One used smiley face sticker

ABQCOWBOY: Same as LaTuna

Sarge: Years supply of “Hot Wings” and a bottle of Beer ( Sarge at your age 1’s enough)….brand of your choice.

To All Members over the age of 45: My thick skin….for all the Old Man jokes you will have thrown at ya when I’m gone you’ll need it…..actually I liked them it gave me a chance to spank the younguns

To all Members Under the age of 45: A permit to walk across my yard and A Thought….You’re never “Too Old” until you think you are.

To All Cowbyszone Members:

A couple of laughs a smile maybe?

10 Things I always tried to remember:

The Past brought us the Present and both, hopefully, ensures a Future.
Never forget those that brought us here.
Everyone has the right to be wrong
Only a real man can admit……”I was wrong.”
Treat others as you would have them treat you.
All opinions are important and there will always be those that differ from me.
A “pompous attitude” is asinine
Look for the “Good” not the “Bad” in a person. Even I had 1 or 2 good attributes…What they were?????????
Tunnel Vision……a personal problem….I am the only person that can cure it.
The integrity of the board is my 1st priority

Last but not Least: A Copy of my new book…”The Haunting”. Along w/my promise, not a threat: Too haunt all of you for as long as this forum exists. Happy NightMares heheheheheheh……Lol

The Dallas Cowboys: A pledge for next season: Number Six in 2006

PS……….If you think this was bad……wait to you see Ruff draft Vol. 2….at 20,000. That Is, If I am still able to type .
