Cee Dee on Pickens: We are both 1s

Stephen has to be really regretting referring to Pickens as a number one WR. He’s going to want number one WR money if he has a big year, especially if his numbers are comparable to CeeDee’s or exceeds them. lol

I don't see like this KJ........Just my take, but you would hope every player, especially one with trade investment, reaches elite status coz it's helping the team on the field. The contract stuff will take care of itself. In Pickens case.......I'm sure Stephen and Jerry would love nothing more than to see him elevate his game to a top 5 WR. Even if that happens, the outcome still works in our favor
* Franchise tag.......rumored to be $30M range 2026
* Franchise tag and attempt to trade
* Contract offer $25-30M range ( unlikely but who knows )
* Let him walk......valuable contribution to the season and we likely get a 3rd or 4th comp

Again, my take but I will always take a player elevating his game to elite/ALL-PRO status over contract concerns.

I am just so happy that Tet McMillan didn’t fall to us. I don’t ever see him ever being on the same level as Pickens is now let alone with a top flight quarterback.

It will end up as an outstanding trade IF the quarterback/receivers communication becomes and remains solid AND the partnership makes defenses pay on as many offensive possessions as possible.
Last year, before the injury, Dak and CeeDee still struggled to get on the same page. Whose fault was that? Well, let's just say there's nothing wrong with CeeDee's hands...

I think that was well handled.

Don’t get caught up in media monikers, just go out and make plays when the opportunity comes.

'IF' is a misunderstood word sometimes.

Everyone including the Joneses would love for Pickens to reach elite status but calling him a WR1 before he’s played his first down for the team in a contract year is opening up a tough negotiation with him if he does have a big year. If we lose him in free agency we only get a 5th comp pick.

If he has a big year, why would we only get a 5th?

And if we said he was our WR3, would that mean it would be an easier negotiation next year?

IMO, his money will depend on his performance and behavior, not what we called him in May. But I acknowledge I could be wrong.
