Honestly, I think this quietly started a couple of years ago, but he's now a little more vocal. BTW.....Stephen Jones has said many times that he expects strong leadership and team presence ( face of the team ) from his 2nd contract players. It's no coincidence Parsons is now calling this his team or saying now is his time ( it's Stephen Jones' language )

I think that's part of it but also they are generally the players expected to be the voice of the team/locker room.

At the risk of seeming like i am taking sides in others arguements (which i am not), nothing about CeeDee to this point in his career has suggested he has focused on anything but his own game and career, which is fine. Being the best you can be is great but it does not make you a leader.
