Video: Ceedee Lamb the top 88?

Lamb's quietly impressive.

First 2 years of career:
Ceedee REC 153 YDS 2,037 TD 11
Dez REC. 108 YDS 1,489 TD 15
Irvin REC 58. YDS 1032 TD 7
Pearson REC. 84. YDS 1,475 TD 4

You gotta be freaking kidding me. If Lamb played in those eras, he would be lucky to get off the LOS....and too scared to go across the middle. He would have to know how to be physical, tough and durable. Not saying he is chopped liver, but comparing him to those greats, he is top 5. Different era my friend.

Lamb’s had an excellent start. But it’s very hard to compare numbers between eras. Drew Pearson and Michael Irvin played in much heavier run oriented offenses. The catch numbers can be skewed.

What I look at are big play numbers. Both Drew and Michael made huge plays in huge moments. To me those are the signature moments of a player more than just raw numbers. Think of the plays Drew and Michael had- The Hail Mary, multiple TDs in SBs and NFC championship games. Drew had 8 TDs in playoff games and so did Michael Irvin.

Cedee Lamb has played in one playoff game. I want to see how he develops before making 88 comparisons.

Time will really tell. Drew and Irvin had a HOF QB as well.
IRVIN: Didn't have a HOF QB his first 2 seasons. In fact he was on a really bad team

PEARSON:
Played in a much less pass heavy offense and era. The Cowboys threw for 5,458 yards Pearson's first 2 seasons combined. Last year alone the Cowboys threw for 4,963

And remember, Drew played in 14 game seasons, not 16/17.

Ceedee accomplished this as the #2. Drew and Irvin were the #1 WR by year two.

Irvin missed 8 games with injury in year 2

CD started 27 games his first 2 seasons. Drew started 20. Irvin started 16.

Not sure it's accurate to say Cee Dee was the #2 last year anyway. He had 16 more targets than Amari Cooper did.

The world would be such a better place if as optimistic as this forum.

That said I hope this guy tears it up!
Optimistic? The occasional bouts of optimism don't even compare to the overwhelming pessimism. It's a pretty fair microcosm of society, to be honest.

He might be 3 and that is a BIG might... Irvin and Pearson have rings!

HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once again just like Dakota "Toad Hunter" Prescot's stats don't mean squat, neither does CeeDee's numbers. The other 88s brought a lot more to the table than what CeeDee has brought. Give him a few more years to see how his time with the Cowboys plays out.................

No one is the best anything until they lead, dominate and win a Super Bowl. See Michael Irvin and Drew Pearson

The answer will be more clear in 5 to 10 years.

Go Cowboys!

He will break every cowboys receiving record.

Rules protect receivers now way more than when Drew and Irvin played. Ceedee would have been KILLED in the NFL back then.

The 88s
1 Drew Pearson
2 Michael Irvin
3 CeeDee Lamb
4 Dez Bryant

First thing Lamb needs to do is gain enough weight to actually fill out a jersey with 88 on it....or take it to Boogers tailor, and have it tapered on the sides. He looks like Trevon Diggs little kid in it now.

When he has over 73 TDs & 3 Super Bowls, THEN he will be considered the top #88
