Well, it is a big topic right now. I saw it posted somewhere else, but how does Green Bay get away with jumping into the stands and not get a penalty?

Not that it matters, because Dallas should have overcame the penalty and actually covered a kick, but it is interesting how the rules aren't the same for everyone. I am sure that this will come up when we play them in their house...

That's not "going to the ground".

That's "going to the stands".

I wanna know why other teams don't get penalized when players tackle each other after a big play and fall to the ground.

Actually, I don't wanna know because I know the answer.

Players don't get penalized for that because it's completely ridiculous to penalize them for it and only an idiot like Jeff Triplette could allow the rule to be interpreted like that.

Maybe if the guy fell down coming from the stands, it would be a penalty.

The penalty was given when Colombo fell as he did a chest bump.

It is a delay when they jump in there with their fans. I really don't mind it, I think that it is cool they can do it, but make it fair across the board....

My Halloween avatar.....very scary!!!!!!!!!!!!! :laugh2:

the video is in the media zone, and what I think caused the penalty (technically it's the going to the ground) was Witten looking back and pointing as Columbo did the back flip to get up. It is only my speculation, but I don't think the flag is thrown if JW doesn't point and draw the refs attention.

Come -on!!!! These guys are grown men acting like kids.

The Cowboys should not allow any celebrations.
The chest bump, the hook em horns sign and the first down pointing after a catch ,(when were losing ), is just plain stupid.
This crap about posing after a play is childish and so is spiking the ball.

Make a good run or catch hand the ball to the ref,Get a first down, hand the ball to the ref
Get a TD ,hand the ball to the ref.

This "big me" crap has top stop ,and I would like it to start with the Cowboys.

As someone said before,"Act Like You've Been There Before".

Combine the league's most whistle happy ref crew with the league's dumbest team, nothing good can come of it.

Truth!

How long did it really take for them to see that Miles touched the player down in the EZ on that int?

That was like 10 freakin minutes. :laugh2:

Phil Simms - What is taking so long on this review? :laugh2:

When they made the rule they specifically said that the GB tradition was okay. There are certain teams the league office bends over backwards for and unfortunately the Cowboys aren't one of them.

Jeff Triplette is the most crooked Ref in the NFL especially against the Cowboys.

Lets revisit the Green Bay game last year.

Remember that play where Romo lost the ball and Felix Jones fell on it? Then a GB guy bumped it out of him and recovered the ball.

Another play was when he called Witten for illegal hands to the face where it was no where near the play plus it was very borderline.

But last of all was when in the last 2 minutes of the game he allowed GB a challenge to a play when they didn't have a challenge. Yet GB was not penalized.

Watch that game over if you have it taped.

Jeff Triplette gave GB 14 unanswered points. Just like he gave the game away to the Titans.

I'm more upset at him than anything else. Wish I can fly to where he lives and beat the crap out of him.

the lambeau leap was grandfathered in as an acceptable celebration

Next time they score they should just "act like they've been there before", it's a clique i know, but that penalty never gets called if they do

Rafael Vela said it best in his blog !

The boys cant even execute a TD celebration flawlessly , Clumsy Colombo fell down during a chest bump with less heavier player and got the penalty ! Sigh !

(d) Individual players involved in prolonged or excessive celebrations. Players are prohibited from
engaging in any celebrations while on the ground. A celebration shall be deemed excessive
or prolonged if a player continues to celebrate after a warning from an official.

"What happened on that play was fine that he was handed the football, no problem there, spiking the football is ok, the chest bump is ok, however, going to the ground all part of that celebration and that is a foul," Johnson said. "[It's] just like if a guy would go to the ground and do pushups or a guy who would simulate shooting a shotgun in a recoil and knocking them down to the turf and doing a somersault it all falls in the same category. It is a foul for going to the ground as part of the celebration."

This is the part that gets me. He DID NOT celebrate on the ground, he fell.
