I know that this topic has come up before and I think the general concensus was that cell service, texting ability and internet connectivity sucks in the new stadium. I know A.T. and T. has or will acquire the naming rights to the new stadium. I ran across an article which said something about the Cowboys will partner with A.T. and T. regarding communications in some respect but it was pretty vague. Has anyone heard if there are expected to be any improvements in the fan's ability to use a cell phone inside the staduim (and its accompanying texting/internet capabilities)

As part of the deal, AT&T has doubled its 4G LTE network capacity to benefit its customers inside the stadium, in the plazas and in the parking lots — and is working to nearly double the Wi-Fi capacity for all mobile technology users at the stadium, said Cathy Coughlin, AT&T’s senior executive vice president and global marketing officer.

AT&T is also enhancing the Cowboys’ mobile app with maps and wayfinding information to improve the fan experience on game days, she said.

I do know that ATT service still sucks in San Francisco ballpark, so who knows how this plays out.

It is generally too loud to talk on the phone in the stadium, but it is nice to be able to communicate via text, which as it stands is a very dicey proposition. Moreover, the current coverage situation drains your cell phone battery like crazy. It is not uncommon to go into the stadium with a full battery and come out with your cell phone dead or almost dead from battery drain due to the poor cell coverage.

I'm not sure how talking on a cell phone at a stadium would be disrespectful. It is more annoying to you than having a bunch of belligerant drunks yelling profanities and spilling beer on and taunting nearby fans? I would think someone talking on a cell phone near you would be way down the list of annoying things in the stadium game day experience. LOL

I would hope they do not improve the service, in fact it would be great if they made it worse. Perhaps some of the "fans" would become a little more interested in the game itself and sounding off to the opposing team, than to worry about communicating by text or/and phone to catch up on the latest gossip in Hollywood.

If the hold true to their promise to increase the service, I will be one happy customer. I really like to turn on Red Zone (on my phone) during breaks, halftime, etc... but it's damn near impossible in the Death Star due to the lack of service.

Sorry, that was probably a little insensitive. It was a little tongue in cheek and just meant for all those people who call themselves "fans" but go to the game just to say they went. I'm not calling anyone out but the last time I was at a game, everyone around me was basically just hanging out trying to decide on where they were going to eat later on, taking Iphone pics of each other and talking to their family/friends on their phones not even paying attention to the game. It's a personal issue I have to get over. I'm old fashion that way.

Exactly, I'm a hypocrite. Like it for business but drives me crazy when my kids can't put 2 sentences together but can text like a concert pianist.

"Text like a concert pianist.."

lmao

I love being at the stadium, but there is a lot of down time during TV timeouts and halftime that I would like to use to check the web (especially this site) because there are injury updates and other bits of info that you don't get at the game. As bad as some TV announcers are, they still provide some sideline reports that would be nice to know in-game. I only seem to get a good signal before the games when the crowd has not fully arrived. I hope that changes.
