Certainly some decent veterans being released out there...

Well, lots of players are being released that are a bit of a surprise.

If Dallas did get to the point where they decided to part ways with a TO, they could do the stop-gap veteran temporary replacement gig with a Harrison or a Galloway. I guess you pay them A LOT for a short term contract, trying to convince them they'd have a chance to win a Super Bowl here.

On Defense, there are a few veteran safeties that might fit. Eagle or no, I'd take Dawkins for a year or two. There are the Sharpers etc out there too. We could use some veteran depth there, especially if we let Roy Williams go (which I think is the right move - lack of leadership and real football hunger in the guy IMHO).

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the team will pick up any impact free agents, but the worry for me then is, how can we add some leadership and locker-room policing?

What semi-realistic veterans would fit in in Dallas and might we go after? Is Cato June any good? Released by Tampa today. We probably need a veteran decent ILB.

I expect one of the vet LBs is going to end up here -- but like in May or something

I still like the idea of toomer if owens were removed. He could get us back to being a quiet team and he would bring faith in garrett.

I'd give Roy31's money to Dawkins.

I'd give Z. Thomas's money to D. Brooks.

Cato June used to be a pretty good player. If he's 100%, willing to play for cheap, he would be a good WILB option.

I'm on board with Dawkins and ok with Brooks.

Another Singleton/Akin/Thomas. My problem with Brooks except Brooks can certainly still make plays.

Derrick Brooks would get hammered as a 3-4 ILB. He'd be great in nickel situations and such, but has no role as a starter on this team. Same could be said for June probably.

If you're going to bring in a small LB like Brooks, you might as well as keep RW, restructure his contract, and immerse him into LB camp.

I take a look at Cato June, before he went to Tampa he was a 100+ tackle guy with 10 INTs in 4 years
