On phone so cant post partial article but according to Bleacher Report quoting Peter King the Cowboys have honed in on him as their pick and love him. Article says 17 is too high and wont be there at 51. So either a trade back or a trade up from 51 if put any stock in this, or pure smoke screen.

Prospect Grade 6.37
Will be starter within first two seasons score was not a Pro-Bowl Grade

In my views no way at #17 they would have to be at bottom of 1st Round for this to make sense.

I can see a situation where guys like Kinlaw, Chaisson, and Henderson are gone, and he's our highest rated player on the board with players like Diggs, Fulton, Delpit, maybe a couple receivers close by. Basically, I think if Kinlaw, Chaisson, and Henderson are gone, we're trading down because we'll have a ton of players rated similarly

Totally cool with a trade down to pick Ruiz.

What's the saying for this time of year?

If my lips are moving I'm lying? Something like that.

They already picked Ruiz last year....Connor McGovern.

How many premium picks and money have to be put into this OL, when your secondary stinks, and ALL FOUR projected starters are FA after this year?

Really, they would do better adding a WR or TE w a top pick.

I don't buy this at all anyway, so whatever.

No reason not to throw curveballs out to the rest of the league.

Furthermore, they had better not "hone in" on ANYONE as "their pick" before seeing how things unfold before they are on the clock.

I get the idea they did that with Hill last year.

Also, at some point, if #4 wants to be paid as elite at his position, he is going to have to figure out how to get it done without the very best OL, WR and RB.

I think Jerry talks to Peter King fairly regularly and this rumor might have legs.

that’s what they said when we took Frederick

Completely agree. Center is hugely important to this ol. McGovern was drafted at G and hasn't played a down. Looney has proven he is capable, but not good.

I read the article. It is total speculation. They say a trade down target. Nothing concrete. I bet one of the scouts like him just like one of the scouts likes Diggs, Murray, and Baun.

That OL was also seriously lacking talent. Right now we have two first rounders, a player that would have been a mid first, and two day 2 draft picks. The unit us definitely not lacking talent right now

Not condoning a trade back for Ruiz as the #1 plan, but I would certainly prefer that to taking someone like Diggs or Murray at 17 if our board gets wiped out.

People seem to forget that Dak was sacked 56 times the year Looney started. Not saying it was all his fault, but he was certainly a catalyst to the big dip in our o lines’ play.
McGovern has started 1 game at C since 2017...0 in the NFL at any position
Connor Williams was everyone’s whipping boy, and now he’ll be less than 12 months off an acl tear to start the year...

To think that we can’t or shouldn’t improve our o line is pretty crazy.
