1. Cyrus Kouandijo OT Alabama 6'5" 310- Everyone is looking at the DL, but if we are going to continue be a pass-heavy team we need to protect Tony Romo first and foremost. Kouandijo doesn't turn 21 until July 21st and has the tools to develop into a very good OT. He and Tyron as bookends would be nasty.

2. Scott Crichton DE Oregon St 6'3" 265- Now we get a pass rusher. Between Crichton's high motor and good hand use, I see him as a good fit for Marinelli. Oregon St played him all over the line, including lining him up in the A gap against Oregon's up-tempo offense.

3. Dominique Easley DT Florida 6'2" 285- He might have been a 1st round prospect before his latest knee injury. His injury history does concern me, but this could also be a steal. Injuries are a part of the game, sometimes you need to roll the dice.

4. Brandon Thomas OL Clemson 6'4" 316- Compared to Brian Waters. Has played both OT and OG throughout his career. Played very well against Clowney when he faced him this year, and had an impressive showing at the Senior Bowl too. Plug him in at RG, and you'll have a solid OL of Smith-Leary-Frederick-Thomas-Kouandijo for years to come.

5. Kenny Ladler S Vanderbilt 6'0" 200- Has a knack for causing turnovers. Finished his college career with 7 FFs and 9 INTs. I'm really high on Ladler, as a steady tackler who is always around the ball he could be an immediate upgrade for us.

7. Calvin Barnett DT Oklahoma St 6'2" 300- Able to generate a good rush from the middle but is also stout against the run. Trasferred from Navarro CC before his Junior year, and was 1st Team All Big 12 both years at Ok St.

7. Aaron Colvin DB Oklahoma 6'0" 186- Torn ACL at the Senior Bowl is a tough break, he was projected as a first round pick by some before the injury. Will have to have essentially a "red-shirt" year but could be a good pickup.

7. De'Anthony Thomas RB Oregon 5'9" 170- Seeing him listed at #218 overall was a bit of a surprise. We need a home run threat. Coming from Oregon's wide-open offense to our pass-happy attack, Linehan should be able to find ways to use him. If he's really here I would take him and run.

I would not mind this draft at all. The only thing that I am weary of is Kouandijo. That bowl game against Oklahoma still lingers in my mind of him getting abuse of the edge by the DE, Stryker (I believe his name is). I know that it is one game but did concern me that he will have trouble with speed rushers.

Interesting to see something a little different than most mocks.

1. Cyrus Kouandijo OT Alabama 6'5" 310- Everyone is looking at the DL, but if we are going to continue be a pass-heavy team we need to protect Tony Romo first and foremost. Kouandijo could very well be the BPA at the Cowboys' pick. I think he could play Guard initially if that was a bigger need.

I like Crichton. He is really strong with some violence to his game. He would be a good fit at Strong Side DE.

3. Dominique Easley DT Florida 6'2" 285- He might have been a 1st round prospect before his latest knee injury. His injury history does concern me, but this could also be a steal. Injuries are a part of the game, sometimes you need to roll the dice.
I wouldn't be concerned about a player with 1 ACL injury; however, he is recovering from his 2nd ACL injury. That's too much injury history for a 3rd round pick, IMO.

This would be a good pick in the 4th.

There are some things I like about this player and some things that I really don't like. The Ints and FFs are good and he is decent in coverage; however, he often avoids contact and misses a lot of tackles due to poor technique and/or overrunning the play. He is not a player that I enjoyed watching, but it's the 5th round and he appears to have the required athletic ability.

7. Calvin Barnett DT Oklahoma St 6'2" 300- Able to generate a good rush from the middle but is also stout against the run. Trasferred from Navarro CC before his Junior year, and was 1st Team All Big 12 both years at Ok St.
This is a good project for Marinelli. He appears to have the physical ability. I think he is ranked low due to inconsistency and he needs a lot of work on technique.

7. Aaron Colvin DB Oklahoma 6'0" 186- Torn ACL at the Senior Bowl is a tough break, he was projected as a first round pick by some before the injury. Will have to have essentially a "red-shirt" year but could be a good pickup.
I like the idea of getting a good prospect in the 7th and putting him on IR for the year. It's better than pushing an injured player to play too soon.

I realize he is currently ranked this low, but I have a hard time believing that he was be available in the 7th.

Not a fan of the Bama OT. Had he played for any other school he'd be a round 3 guy. Very overrated and very likely to fall IMHO.
Probably a LG only in Dallas. I'd be looking for a day 1 starter in R1.

The rest of the draft looks great IMO.

I agree,he struggled against the speed of Oklahoma all game and looked heavy footed.

Solid mock but I don't any scenario where we don't go Defense with the first pick.

He is much more athletic than Fluker who played RT for Alabama and was picked #11 overall in the 2013 draft.

Real nice Mock... doubt we'd land that but I would be ecstatic!

I dont like OL in round 1 again, especially with the way the OL has been playing. There isnt an immediate need. Unless Donald is gone which i dont see happening, Noway would i pick CK over him. No way in hell.

Crichton is going to be gone way before Dallas picks. I think end of RD1.

Really like Easley, but i dont think they will have guys like Easley who has had 2 ACL tears in 2 yrs on their board.

Someone is going to draft De'Anthony Thomas higher than projected with visions of Percy Harvin and Tavon Austin dancing in their heads.

I could certainly be happy with this. Kouandjio, if he's not at RT, he'll probably start at RG. Good to have that flexibility.

Still don't get this obsession with drafting an olineman first round when you can find a backup somewhere in the mid-rounds. If the defense was even top twenty they would have made the playoffs-the team needs dlineman....BADLY.

If the only OL we drafted was Brandon Thomas, I'd be pretty ecstatic. He just looks so pro for LG. I imagine he'll rise up by combine time.

I like what I saw of Colvin too. Feels like an opportunity to steal a guy who could start down the road. Twitchy athlete and aggressive in run support.

If we traded down in RD 1 and picked up another 3rd, I'd be okay with Easley as sort of a bonus pick in 3rd. I don't feel good about adding another highly injury prone player unless we can mitigate the risk with additional mid-round picks. I get it though. If he can avoid injury he could be a terror.
