CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders add Trey Lance to their negotiating rights list

Wow, yeah Lance is a poor QB and is an idiot for not accepting the Cowboys offer. Lance made a bad decision there.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.
The Niners tried to make it look like it was Trance's decision. The Niners took the best offer the got. Trance had little say in the matter.

I agree. Trey always need live reps from the day he was drafted up to now. CFL is a valid option, but I just wonder will Trey have the mindset to go down a level to develop instead working behind the scenes in the NFL.
Go down a level?

What level do you think he is on?

I don’t understand. How were the 49ers involved with Trey turning down a contract extension with the Cowboys?

The pay for the CFL is in the thousands, the pay for the NFL is millions. Trey has been in the NFL and there's a lot of trash QBs hanging around the NFL who didn't have to go to the CFL. Trey can be a QB3 in the NFL, so NFL level QB is where I think he is.

I misunderstood. Who said we made Trance an offer?
It’s been reported that we offered Lance a contract extension in December. I heard it from Mike Fisher, but I believe other legit sources reported it. It was minimum wage or close to minimum wage and Lance declined it saying he was “betting on himself”. So this is why I don’t understand why Lance wouldn’t circle back and accept the Cowboys offer. If the Cowboys still have it on the table. The Cowboys could have pulled it.

But to answer your question I heard it on Mike Fisher’s YouTube channel and he’s discussed it several times. I’m sure some other guys in the forum can probably find and post the tweets. There’s people in this forum that are more knowledgeable about posting info than I am.

Personally I hope the Cowboys pulled the Lance offer and trade a 6th for Milton. Same type of project player but less money and under contract for 3 more years.

If it isn't about money and more about being a starter, then he might have to consider making a sacrifice to get the reps to be a starter.

I'd pref to draft Will Howard in the 5th.

Dave Naylor of TSN reports that the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders have added Lance to their negotiating list. The move gives the team exclusive rights to negotiate a contract with Lance in the event he wants to continue his career in Canada..

Trey Lance
Well, Rocket told DAL to pound sand too for the CFL

He won’t start first year even if he made the Roughriders. Their QB, Harris, is signed and is the kind of player Trance needs to be. Trevor Harris has played in the Arena league, the original UFL, and for five CFL teams and on two separate occasions signed to an NFL contract. Harris is 38 years old, likely his last year. Trance could watch him and learn how to be a football player.
