Eyeball test? Ehhhhh…..
That is literally what it is and has been. There is no objective standard for making the playoff. A bunch of guys sit in a room and discuss who they think the 2,4, 6, or 12 best are that season. How else do you explain a 3 loss bama team going over ND ? The members of the committee sat around and decided that Bama was the better team.

Anyone who watched Bama play this year and last year knew they could lose games and many games that were very close.

Just saying.
I was surprised the committee took them over ND. I'm looking at their roster and see one first round OL in next years draft. So, they weren't promoted to the playoff based on overwhelming talent. I'd rather see the Love kid than anyone on Bama.

I'm working and not watching the game, but I have been keeping up with play-by-play results of the Iowa-vs-Vanderbilt game.

Did Vanderbilt just kick a field goal after getting a first down at Iowa's 19 yard line with 3 minutes to play? If so, why would they do that?

They should have gone for the touchdown so they were only 3 down which means if Iowa kicks a field goal, a touchdown could still win it for them.

As it is, now Iowa just has to kick a field goal to secure the win.

I get kicking the field goal is it's 4th down or even 3rd and 20+ yards maybe, but that seems like a stupid decision to kick it on 1st and 10 at the Iowa 19.

Miami with a lost fumble vs Ohio St after driving to the Buckeye redzone....yikes

Bain is out of our reach but Mesador wouldn’t be. Man we could use another DE opposite of Eze

I dislike OSU but come one this is a pretty terrible take.
Nah, for years they voted themselves nat'l champions. That all got exposed when it started getting settled on the field. Still every year they are ranked high & praised all season while rarely playing anyone. Look pretty mundane when they finally do.

Yes, since Urban went there they play a much better brand of football and have had some legit teams ... but on a yearly basis ... over-rated. They do themselves a disservice by not playing better opponents. They have talent but they aren't forced to be a championship team playing pancakes.

Death, taxes & OSU & ND being over-rated. It's a good rule to live by.

With OSU out which so many (and I include myself) thought was the favorite, who is it now?
