You might actually win the occasional person over if you weren't so abrasive and insulting most of the time.having read his drivel you have blinders on
gtb cover your eyes bro, this one is just mean....
The person I was responding to was wanting 64 teams. There are many things that could be done to make everything better, no argument. But I still maintain:Doesn't have to. Expand to 24 and get rid of those ridiculous championship games. They mean absolutely zero. Playoffs will be done in 5 weeks if you start it right away.
Been reading him for a while. Straight shooterhaving read his drivel you have blinders on

Appetite for college football is huge, and the new expanded CFP system is only increasing that appetite. So many saying that nobody will watch the bowl games that are not part of the CFP.
Seems like most of the bowls listed above had more watching the games than ever before. So instead of the viewership following, it has increased.
But the narrative that nobody cares about the other bowls will continue even if it has proven to be false.
Here’s your proof with ND’s records over the past 30 years. They would have only made the playoffs a few times with your criteria of only allowing 1 loss teams.Cite your proof or shut up

and of course if you went 40 years then three of them under Holts would qualifyseason record dude not counting bowls
but hey that is how Defense attorneys get the guilty off by twisting facts
All that portal stuff is evolving and its not going to be the same 5 years from now. We are going to see contracts soon that bind these kids to their current programs for 2-3 years. The school semester is irrelevent. These kids sign up for spring classes long before the fall semester ends. UGA for example starts its second semester classes on Jan 6th. The players simply enroll and then withdraw if they transfer after the playoff. Pushing the CFP final out to the end of January changes nothing. The schedule needs to wrap before the 2nd semester starts because you would have a very different football team from one semester to the next.
Portal kids are on campus today!
You can't play the playoffs without half your roster.
And shifting signing later wouldn't help because once school starts, they have to be enrolled or wait til Fall which ZERO coaches support.
To go to a 64-team playoff, they'd need to go back to a 10-game schedule, start week 0 and you'd see 0 non-conference match ups before the playoffs.
And given the size of the conferences now you'd have nearly zero chance of determining your best teams. A lot would depend on which teams got lucky with scheduling like TAMU did this year.
Congratulations… Under your criteria even with 40 years Notre Dame would only made the playoffs about 5-6 times. Whoopty freaking do.and of course if you went 40 years then three of them under Holts would qualify

I replied / quoted the post that showed many people watched non cfp bowl games and did so more than last year.Do you have any actual facts? I do.
Lets take the Rose Bowl.
2024 CFP semifinal drew 27.2 million veiwers.
2023 non CFP game drew 10.1 million viewers.
You can do that for every single bowl by simply comparing their CFP structure games to years when they were not involved. It is beyond obvious that the CFP games draw way more eyeballs than non-cfp bowl games. So what exactly are you talking about?
My man, no one said the CFP wouldn't do numbers.Do you have any actual facts? I do.
