The portal may be flattening the overall landscape but in the end, it's going to further separate those with resources from those that don't have resources. And that's if one chooses to use those resources. TT is just plowing money into the portal, signing everyone they touch. Conversely, Notre Dame, who craps gold bars appears to be more reticent to spend money required to get the players they want. Well, that will result in a shift where TT simply is more likely to compete for a NC in the future than ND. We see it with Clemson where they took the position that the portal was not how they want to do business. And since then, Clemson has languished.
If you have the resources, you better use them, or you are going to find yourself on the outside looking in. That's the age of college football now.
