Cowboys picks:

1. Connor Williams, OT, Texas
2. D.J. Chark, WR, LSU
3. Tim Settle, DT, Virginia Tech
4. Fred Warner, OLB, BYU
4. Bo Scarborough, RB, Alabama

Just kind of luke warm on Williams. Chark is okay, I guess. I love the Settle and Warner picks.

I have no idea why on earth we would want Scarborough in the 4th round.

not a fan of Williams.....Id rather have Wynn or Hernandez if thats the board.
I like Orlando Brown,Ou better....my Sooner bias....not sure if McGlinchey,Brown or Williams could play OG.....so they sit until needed....not a fan.
Like Chark,Settle and Warner......I like Bo but not here.....I think you can stretch the RB board into the 6th or 7th.

One, I am not a huge Williams fan to begin with. Two, my issue with taking an OT in Round 1 is that if things go as expected and Smith is healthy, that first round OT would rarely see the field in 2018. You need your first round pick to be more than a guy wearing a baseball cap on the sideline his rookie year. Now I guess I could see an OT if that OT could play OG and still be the predominant backup to Smith and Collins.

I can live with 2, 3 and 4th rounders.

Honestly, if the draft broke like that, I'd consider Landry. I am big on getting more edge players in this draft. For all the heroics of Lawrence and Irving for when we had him, the Cowboys were dead average in sacks and QB pressures still.

Ro Smith and Derwin James back to back right before we pick. Gonna be some holes in my drywall if we didn't at least try to trade up to 17 in a scenario like this. Gonna make a couple more holes when i see us take clark over DJ Moore in the 2nd.

It wasn't long ago Connor Williams was considered a top 5 pick.
What happened?

I'd only be happy with this if we're drafting Williams as a G, or if we're moving Collins to G.

I think it'd make more sense to take Settle in the 2nd and Chark in the 3rd but overall a pretty good haul of talent IMO.

and he should probably go in the 4th. To me, he's a good not great player that like a Damien Wilson will make a few plays but never really develops into an above average starter.
What are your thoughts on Christian Sam out of Arizona State? Don't know much about him other then he was often injured in college but this was from what seemed like salty fans who was upset he declared early.

He's a thicker kid, like a LB from a decade ago, he seems to carry a lot of weight in his torso. I've gotten to go to a lot of ASU practices the last few years and the one thing that sticks out with him was that he was exposed in space. The wheel route is a problem for most LBers, but he really struggled with it.

Not really a fan of Connor Williams at 1. If you wanted to go OT you could have Taken McGlinchey from ND who he had going a few picks later.
Also if you were going to go Oline in the First...might as well get your starter at OG and take Isiah Wynn, James Daniels, Price or Hernandez. ALL still available in his mock.

If you did not want to go OL... You still had some of teh following players available in his draft...

Hurst
Landry
Hughes
Jackson
Evans
Payne

I would probably prefer DJ Moore over Chark. But in his mock you still had Hernandez available. If you went with something other than OL in the first you would have to jump on Hernandez here.

Like Settle
Like Warner

So, what if Smith manages to stay healthy this year? We drafted a backup Tackle for at least a year or two in round 1?
They have been pimping Collins at RT and I doubt they switch him back to guard. Can Williams play LG to start off his career?

You and me both brother. Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing while looking over this mock. :lmao2:

So a 2 down thumper at the next level huh. Saw his name on CBS prospect page and they have him ranked to go in the 4th at the moment. Sounds more like an UDFA from your analysis. Thank you for the info. I remember someone saying that your the one to go to on info about draft prospects out of Arizona.

Yea if it gets to that point you have to move up. Even if it means losing our 4th and possibly a 6th or a pick from next years draft. Only pick i loved was the Tim Settle pick in the 3rd. Didn't really look to see who was left off that could of been taken instead of Fred Warner but doesn't matter. Trade the 4th away and walk away with a draft of Derwin James, DJ Moore, and Tim Settle. Maybe even attempt to trade up in the 4th using our 4th round comp and 1 of our 5th round comp picks if not both to get a LB or O lineman.
