Ever since the La Liga schedule came out a few months back I had begun planning to making a trip to Madrid for El Clasico. The match turned out to be on 10/26 of this year when the schedule was released.

About a week after the schedule released I begun thinking of potential liverpool matches that I could go see while I would be in Spain. A couple of weeks later the BPL schedule was released and I was praying Liverpool would have a home match that same weekend so I could knock out two brids w one stone.. Id hopefully get to check out both of my fav teams in the same trip. Much to my delight the very same weekend of El Clasico - Liverpool had a home fixture scheduled!

It wasn't much long after when it donned on me how awesome it would be if I could check out a CL match at Anfield instead of a premier League match. So i googled the CL match dates for this season, knowing that the teams and fixtures werent set, but the match days already were. Once again to my delight, the exact week I was scheduled to be in Spain, there were CL fixtures scheduled!!! Boy, how excited I was.

From that day forward all I could think about was how awesome it would be if Liverpool would land a home fixture in the CL that very week I would be in Europe. Its been about 6-8 weeks or so and today was finally the day I'd get my answer!! The CL draw for the group stage was set to be released!!! I was stoked!!! Praying Liverpool would get a home match once the groups were set and the fixtures were released..

As the draw inched closer and closer all i could think about was how awful it would be if Liverpool and Real landed in the same group. Who would i support.? I love both teams. While i was praying it didn't happen, i also didn't think it would happen as the odds were well in my favor that theyd land in diff groups..

Then the draw began... And of course liverpool was drawn in group b... The exact same group as Real madrid.. I was a bit concerned, but not overly as the rest of the group set up relatively well for liverpool to advance out of the group stage and in to the knockout stage... So i waited and waited and waited... Knowing that the exact dates for each fixture was set to be released.. I refreshed twitter every minute it seemed... Praying AGAIN that liverpool would get a home match the same week id be in Europe...

Then it hit, square in my face, i updated twitter and there it was. Real Madrid AT Anfield the same week as El Clasico...

And my heart stopped... And im still in shock and im still at a loss for words... How could this happen.. What are the odds? Why? Sure it has its pros, but my goodness it sucks at tge the same time...

I still cant believe this happened lol

My group just moved from the US team to the Global team.
While I am no where as far along in my set up as you I do intend to get to Europe a handful of times each year now.
I will certainly do my best to angle towards key matches!
Should be absolutely thrilling!!!
