I wish these were projected out to the 12th pick for Dallas.

So there is a chance both could drop. Though Downs not likely.
Bengals will take him at #10 if there.

Some Giants fans seem to think Harbaugh will draft him at 5 coz Ravens Hamilton. I doubt that but they could trade down and still get him within the top 10. I am not sure why some are mocking him to the Bengals. I looked up their two safeties. Both had 6 interceptions last season. In other words, if he gets past the Giants, I think there's a very good chance he makes it to 12 but Jerry may prefer a CB.

Don't worry so much about a 3-4 defense, it is still going to use that 4-2-5 nickel package.

The defense is so bad just adding talent is gonna be key. I feel like in the past worried about scheme has hurt us when drafting especially since we aren’t married to a scheme.

This is true but it's also the reason you have to be careful investing too much coz the position is more prone to injuries. THIS was my only reservation about extending/keeping Parsons......huge contract/investment, but can't stay on the field ( see Sean Lee 2.0 ).

It's why I am having second thoughts about LBer at 12.......20 OK though.

I would watch out for Tampa Bay go after Styles. I’ve seen him mocked to them in many drafts. I like the idea of a small trade down but am weary of the Bucs taking him

I mean realistically you want a good 4-5 years out of your pick. Then he goes to another team or you resign him while he heads out of his prime.

Free agency is the key. I wouldn’t worry about the draft to much until after what we see in what the Joneses pay out in the free agency market. I know I am dreaming but I pray that we go into the draft not having to take one or two particular players.

Remember the last time we were going to draft a CB high........Surtain or Horn. Both were drafted ahead of our pick and we selected Parsons instead.

Jerry like using 1st round picks to replace departing starters ( see Guyton/Tyron and Booker/Martin ). This year, we lost Diggs......I'm 100% confident we will draft a CB at 12 or 20, especially after hiring Parker.

I think with the combine and pro days still to come that a few guys will jump up in the rankings that may just push one or two players down to our draft spots plus you never know who might splurge for a qb if they need one. I think we will get two decent players if we stay pat or have an option or several to trade back for more picks
