Chances we host the NFC Championship in the Death Star?

So if logic is applied and some (any?) amount of respect given anywhere, then that person must be a fan of the team being discussed? I must be a fan of Green Bay, Minny, and New Orleans then...though none of that is true.

New Orleans now is not the same team they were earlier in the year. They are beat up and I think they lack solid depth on defense.

Very close, but not correct. New Orleans wasn't the same team they were early in the season, but they are now. They are no longer beat up and they have all their depth back on defense. Our #4 and #5 CB's were starting four weeks ago. Our #4 and #5 LB's were starting three weeks ago. Our defensive line goes eight deep with everyone healthy. This does not include Charles Grant whom most Saints fans saw as a detriment and was actually a welcome loss.

Like I said Asylum, I'll let you and utrunner have a it on this one. I have nothing to gain or lose here....so good luck to you both. :)

Well they are not great, they have absolutely no Defense, you can argue all day long about quality wins its all subjective, but with out a defense (they have never had one all season long) they are going no where. Their offense is great (when they are all there and they are playing anyone but a great defensive team) but their team is simply an ok team parading around like a great team on the backs of their offense, on a lucky schedule and on some very weak late season wins. Calling them great is a disgrace.

Through the first half of the season the Saints were a top ten ranked defense with the rushing defense in the top five. The rash of injuries cost that ranking dearly. Still, the Saints defense was 2nd in the NFL in takeaways and led the league with defensive scores with twice as many TD's as the next closest team.

Your defense sucking is not a recent development, its been that way all year long.

Blah blah blah you could right a book on your excuses and how the teams you have played are not really that bad and about how your defense isnt really that bad, but eventually you have to face the facts. You are a paper tiger, hey its not so bad, we were too in 2007, it happens. Enjoy your playoff game it will be the only one you get, little paper tiger.

Dude. Stop using the term 'paper tiger,' and stop asking everyone else in the thread if they know what the term means. It's not exactly an elusive concept.

The Saints could only blow out the teams that were put in front of them this season. Yes, their defense isn't as good as their offense, but Greg Williams was a great hire for them. Yes, they tailed off at the end of the season, but that was because injuries accumulated and they couldn't sustain their emotion level indefinitely. Ie, they peaked too soon. That doesn't invalidate what they accomplished.

Guido, you're nuts if you think this is the same team they were earlier. Granted, you're getting healthier, and no doubt you could catch fire again with a win at home next week, but that's far from a given. And you're now playing nothing but good teams who *are* going to be playing with momentum from here on out. There's a very real chance you guys won't make it for a rematch if we're lucky enough to beat MIN next week, and a better chance you'd lose to the Cowboys again at home.

A championship game in Dallas against the Cards would be a dream.. We match up very well against them and it's always nice to dethrone the previous NFC champs on the way to greatness. Green Bay could give us some problems.

LOL! No you don't have anything to gain at all. But, at least you do have some sense of reality, as do most Dallas fans. That is why I enjoy this board. But, as on all boards, there are those shortsighted individuals that cannot look objectively outside their own franchise.

Good luck next week, and I really mean it. I would love to see a rematch with the Cowboys.

Well I guess you will see next week. Until then enjoy your misplaced confidence.

And just for you Idgit: They are a paper tiger...if you know what I mean.

Having the same players as early in the year does equate to having the same team. Nothing nuts about that. I do agree that the competition will be tougher. That is a given. I don't expect 20 point blowouts every game as early in the season. But, I certainly expect much more than what we have seen over the past two months and many people are basing their opinion of the current Saints on what was and not what is. Personnel makes the team.

That's the hypoothetical matchup I'd like least. I agree, though, it'd be the easiest game for us. Give me GB or the Saints and let's knock off the best of the best on the way to the big dance. Though, it'd be nice to have a home game in the new stadium for the NFCCG.

Here's some reality for you

http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2009121900/2009/REG15/cowboys@saints/analyze/box-score

we're sorry for not being overly afraid of you and pandering to you insecurity by singing your praises anymore

There's 3 teams in the NFC playoffs that look better then you do right now, Most people here are going to be more worried about the team we haven't beat then the teams we have.

It would be very silly to overlook the Saints imo.
No, they are not as good as they seemed earlier in the year, but the Saints are a lot better than how they finished as well.

I just hope the Boys will make it to the next round.

I'm not even sure the Packers win today, honestly. I think people are putting too much into that game last week when the Cards weren't trying to win.

I'm sure that Cincy and NE agrees with you also.

Yup. I am well aware of the 7 point loss. That's why I would love to face y'all again.

You must not remember it very clearly if you think that game was close. We racked your undefeated team pretty badly in a playoff atmosphere on your home turf.

What's more, we're playing better since that game, and you're playing worse.

The word is spelled "you're", not "your", by the way. Anyway, you obviously did not see many Saints games from start to finish this year. Believe what you wish, but when all the pieces are in place the Saints can stick it to any team in this league. And, for the first time in 8 weeks all the pieces are back in place. If the Cowboys somehow get past the Vikes the Saints will be there waiting and I assure you that you will not enjoy the outcome.
That's the same crap Saints fans were talking the first time we stepped all over you in your house. The Cowboys are improving by the week. Who Dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints? We Dat. We Dat.

Oh, I remember it well. I remember hoping that Bushrod could hold Ware without any help given our FB Eckel and TE Shockey were both out. David Thomas, our second TE that also plays H-back was forced to take over pass catching duties and could not cover for Eckel. That left Bushrod out on an island and Ware burned him. Both Eckel and Shockey are back. Our best CB Greer was in the middle of eight games out, but he is back now. As is Reggie Bush who was injured very early that game.

Dallas played their best game of the year. I assure you that the Saints will be playing much, much better than what you saw the first time around.

They'd better be, if they don't want to be embarrassed badly at home again.

That said, forgive me if I don't put much weight on your assurances and would prefer to see you actually win a game sometime this month before getting all worked up about how much better you've gotten.

You were completely dominated. 7 points my be what the scoreboard said but in reality it was not even that close. Whats more we are playing even better than we were then. You better be praying Minni beats us or Ariz/GB beats ya'll otherwise you are going to get supremely embarrassed, little paper tiger.
