What are the chances we win the Super Bowl this year? Do you think we can beat the Philly landfill / Eagles for the NFC east title? What if our secondary's defense becomes decent and not bleed points like last year? Not looking for lock down defense just don't give up 20+ points in a quarter(47 points in a half like against the eagle).

Our offense(when healthy) is a top 3 offense. Our defense sucks. We need to fix that. Even with a backup we had the 7th best offense last year.

All we need is a decent defense. That's all.

If we can just keep the offense where it was last year(#2 when Romo was healthy)and have at least a decent defense we will win the Super Bowl.

You're asking for a lot. You better go sit on Santas lap and be extra nice.

Our chances are better than some and not as good as others.

Lets play 16 and see where we are and what direction we are headed at the end

Were going to be perfect for the season and win the SB. No doubt about it :)

Slim & None and Slim just left for the Hamptons....

New defense and same ole' CB's mean trouble stopping anyone good from scoring. Safety play might be slightly better than last year but not a given at this point.

My best guess is 9 & 7 with an outside chance at 10 & 6 if the ball bounces our way more than not. If we make the playoffs and that is a big if, I give us about a 15% chance to make it all the way to the Superbowl. Actually, I think the Packers probably have the highest odds if getting back to the Superbowl.

The Green Bay packers were about one play away from not even making the playoffs.

Make it to the post season and get hot. Anything is possible.

How can you say we have a top-3 offense?

Nobody has still solidified the #3 Wr spot.

The coaches moved Greenhouse (ILB) to FB this week because nobody is solidifying that job.

We have a rokie revolving door on the OL at both G positions because where Kossier plays will depend on which rookie win the spot. Moving Gurode to G is also possible if Costa wins it but can only play C.

At QB, we have Romo, who is coming off injury. At least he's playing well, but the backup - Kitna, now has back problems.

AT TE, everyone says we're 3-deep. Actually, we're 1-deep. Hey, I like Phillips, but guys coming off knee tears usually don't plat to their 100% potential until their second year back; so Phillips has to 'prove it' and is likely one year away. And lastly, the only notable change to Bennett is that he got married. But until Captain Crunch starts playing like Captain America, he'll be nothing more than an immature character on a cerela box.

Sorry - not trying to post a "downer"; I'm just trying to keep it real around here. Unfortunatley, I can make a similar reply about the defense, but I'm now to depresed to bother. :(

Anything can happen...But I'm not holding my breath.:D

One thing, which has been made crystal clear in this era of the NFL, is that a team does not need to win their division in order to win a title.

Steelers fans really thought they were going to win another SB. Just like all the fake Miami heat fans.

If Rex can just make our defense decent we can win a super bowl THIS year.

But they made it and how have all that experience on their side of the ledger. Their offense is deadly and I still think they easily make it to the conference championship. Eagles or New Orleans will probably be the ones playing them.

Sorry for the downer...but just keeping it real.

We haven't been deep in the playoffs since 1996 and I don't think the odds favor us this year either.

1 in 32...

I would guess that our odds are a little better than average, although I admit it feels a lot murkier this year than in years past.

I might take a 25:1 bet, were I a betting man, which I'm not. Got nothing against the activity, just never seem to get around to it.

I will be ecstatic if we go 10-6 and win at least one or two play off games this year.. Super Bowl win and they gonna have to lock me up...:laugh2:

Non-playoff contender = "level"
Wild card round team = "sliver"
Divisional round team = "shallow"
Conference championship round team = "deep"
Super Bowl participating team = "deeper"

^Is this your playoff scale?

What I meant mainly is every team, in theory, has an equal chance to win when the season starts...
