There seems to be change in the air at the Star these days. I don’t remember, in recent history anyway, they’ve been this active in attempting to fill holes. Don’t be quick to poo poo the free agents as they signed some quality depth there. Not top tier talent but better players than in the past. As everyone should know, you must have quality depth to compete for a Super Bowl because they will be put to the test at some point during the season. As an example of the changes just look at the 2024 RB depth chart compared to 2025:

2024 RB room

* Rico Dowdle
* Ezekiel Elliott
* Dalvin Cook
* Hunter Luepke
* Duece Vaughn

2025 RB room as of May 7th

* Jayden Blue
* Javonte Williams
* Miles Sanders
* Phil Mafah
* Hunder Luepke or Duece

That’s a solid upgrade to the running backs room. Bruisers as well as quickness. Exciting.

The Pickens trade has really got me excited not only becuase he’s one of the best WR’s in the NFL but it signals that theres a change underway in the philosophy of how Jerry and Stephen run the show.

Resigning Osa, Turpin and Hoffman show they got ahead of those contracts which is something they’ve had difficulty doing. Parsons is unsigned but so is Purdy, Trey Hendrickson and TJ Watt.

Trades:
  • Acquired QB Joe Milton III and a 2025 seventh-round pick from the New England Patriots: in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round draft pick.

  • Acquired WR Kaiir Elam from the Buffalo Bills: in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round pick.

  • Acquired LB Kenneth Murray from the Tennessee Titans: in exchange for a 2025 seventh-round pick.
  • Acquired WR George Pickens and a 2027 fifth round pick from the Pittsburgh Steelers: in exchange for a 2026 3rd round pick and 2027 fifth round pick
Free Agency Signings:
  • Signed WR Parris Campbell .
  • Signed OLB Dante Fowler Jr. .
  • Signed G Robert Jones .
  • Signed RB Javonte Williams .
  • Signed DT Solomon Thomas .
  • Signed RB Miles Sanders .
Re-Signings:
  • Re-signed DT Osa Odighizuwa .
  • Re-signed WR KaVontae Turpin .
  • Re-signed RB Ty Johnson .
  • Re-signed G Brock Hoffman .
  • Re-signed DE Tyrus Wheat .
  • Re-signed S Juanyeh Thomas .
  • Re-signed CB CJ Goodwin .
  • Re-signed LS Trent Sieg .
  • Re-signed P Bryan Anger .
  • Re-signed S Markquese Bell .
It’s starting to look like the Cowboys may have a playoff team this year that could go far with some luck with injuries which every team needs.

Enjoy the season!

You gonna disappear again if the Eagles and Commanders have us pretty much dead to rights in October?

Not that I want it to happen or am rooting for that to happen, just want to know if you will listen to others who may disagree with your point of view after what happened last season. Not fair to talk with you if you are just going to walk away when the going gets rough. Especially after the "I am a better fan than you", "find another team", and "hater" wall of replies you loved to spew prior to your user name ending up on a milk carton.

All that said, I gave you a like for the optimism.

Joe MILTON? Bless their hearts but they are clueless beyond belief

Has our defensive issues been fixed? Cause it has usually always been the problem.
Nothing’s been fixed yet. We won’t know that until the season gets underway. My point is that things are different this year. They’ve been doing mostly what everyone has been screaming for them to do. It’s ok to be optimistic and excited.

Realistically, I think this puts us second in the NFCE. We actually signed some quality depth for once. And there will be real competition at some positions. Dare I say that I am looking forward to training camp?

It’s a fun time of year with the anticipation of the new season with all the changes happening. I’ve been around long enough to have seen several teams go to from below .500 one year to the Super Bowl the next. It’s the NFL. Lots of things can happen that are out of your control that benefit you. 2nd place in the NFC East last year made it to the Conference Championship.

The homers don't want to acknowledge that, everything is about to change now because Jerry traded for a headcase WR. It's not like Dak had Lamb, Cooper and Gallup to work with at some point, or all-stars at every position in his rookie season. The washed up immobile plug is about to figure things out in his 10th year apparently, too funny.
This isn't the CFL....in real football, these have been some good moves....Dak is our QB, if you root against him, it just proves the utter and complete ignorance you have at being a fan. He has bwen very good, better than most iber his career. He's pulled a Danny White, Romo, Marino and others when it comes to SB. I'll give you and the other haters thatcall themselves that one...Aye
