I'm tired of the word "change". Corporations have used it for te last 5 or so years to justify outsourcing and downsizing. A political movement just used it to successfully win the USA Presidency by professing to change a corrupt Washington by, as we now learn means, bringing corrupt Illinois-based politic to the White House. And now Jerry Jones and Co. are using the same word to profess fixing the cowboys.
Change, Shmange! "Change" is a buzzword; it's nothing more. It's a marketing message; it's nothing more. It's lipstick on a pig; it's nothing more. Don't believe it stands for real change. A former Marketing Manager once told me that "change is the new norm" because "senior leadership is committed to constant process-retooling". My response was “Well if they ever did their jobs right and figured it out for once then change wouldn't be the new norm, competence would". The guy looked at me like a deer staring in headlights, but now that he's gone, my department has improved drastically.
The point is that "change" for its own sake is not what this team needs; but that is exactly what will come to the Dallas Cowboys. you hear it in quotes where Jerry Jones says with a straight face that he's pleased with Garrett and what he has done to move the football. Then you have Wade say that he'll largely be the same guy, but still change some things; but says maybe he'll start being less nice to the media. Yeah, now that's change!
Do you honestly think that real change is coming, because I don't? I think what's coming is a marketing campaign based on the word “change’ only to sell the new stadium; only I'm not buying it this time. Now that’s change!
