It starts to get expensive if your paying his contract, giving up a premium pick, and then throwing in an RFA on a cheap deal as a sweatener.

He’s a good player but that’s a no for me.
Agree. If Dallas needed that one player, I'm in. A first and a salary is too steep. If we were just spending Jerry's money, fine.

He’s only 28. He’s a top 3 corner. He ran 4.41 at 208. Which means as he ages, he can drop a little weight. Slay is about 32 and still
Elite. Talib was elite into his 30s. He might have 3-4 pro bowl years left I. Him. I just wouldn’t give up a 1st for him. It might be wise to trade d-law. He’ll be 31. He’s still in his prime but it’s better to trade him a year early. We have his replacement t in the team ajready. If not law, offer a2nd and maybe Steele.
I'm not willing to give up a 1st or 2nd for him. I don't see it as a huge position of need. We have way bigger problems on this team than CB that we can address thru FA and draft

We don’t need a shut down corner.
We just need an average press corner who can play man. Bland has given us the luxury of hopefully finding an outside guy, but being able to use a slot guy if he’s the best available.

We need a LG and a #2 wr right now more than any other position.

Dt is the biggest need on the team, because we're never going to go anywhere w/ the guys we got. Hankins was such an upgrade, how in the world do people not see the difference he made? First time we've been able to stop the run in the playoffs since 09.

The Rams are trying to clear cap not add to it so they are going to need that 1 and that is what it will take.
It would be good if we could give them next years 1 and 3. Go for it this year.

It would be an idiotic move so I have no doubt we are exploring it

I would go the other way. Diggs will want more than Ramsey next off season and not worth it. I would trade him for a rd 1 pick now and take a CB with that pick

Take those 20 million you were going to pay Diggs and sign Hargrave and Hankins

Now you have essentially traded Diggs for a starting CB+Hargrave+Hankins
I'm in favor of both really.

I'd be okay with your plan.

I'd also be okay with getting Ramsey and then figuring out which CB I'm going to pay next year.

Or trade Diggs for a 1 and use your 2 ones to trade up and get a QB.

What I'm not okay with extending Diggs now, or letting him play out this year just to watch him walk next year and only get a comp pick in return

Wouldn't hate it. Our CB play was a big reason our pass rush fell off the last quater of the season. Before we had to figure who to play between Joseph, Wright and rando's off the street we were pacing Philadelphia.

Saying that, if they make that level move Id rather it be for Hopkins. Lack of skill players was a major reason we lost to SF

I LOVE this plan. Unfortunately, Cap Boy and Daddy see it as wayyyy too much work and dismiss it with the standard "we like our guys". Its code for " we won't get into any heavy lifting (roster building) because we already are pretty good and thats good enough."

PASS, watched a couple of the Ram's games and saw numerous game highlights and saw a lot of Ramsy getting roasted. He was playing like he didn't care and when a player is pulling in the amount of money he makes, that's just throwing money away...............

Ramsey still has some tread but he’s not top flight corner like he used to be. Diminishing returns at a high cost. This would be like our signing of Zeke to a big deal during his sharp decline.
Use FA money in the trenches, draft the DBs.

Everyone does realize our 1st round pick is #26 overall right?

You're telling me the Rams would accept our 1st round pick, pay Jalen Ramsey's guaranteed money and send him our way?

Why wouldn't anyone take it? Because of the cap? Lmao!

He only 1 year of guaranteed money left on his current contract.......wanna guess what going to happen 2024? In other words, you DO NOT make this w/o agreeing to a deal with him first or offer the Rams a 6th or 7th rounder for a one-year rental.

We do, but the defense performed well last season and did not allow SF to run the ball, so it’s not a critical need. I want another, younger DT, but we can’t even run our offense without a LG right now. And if I can only have another DT or a #2 WR, unless someone tells me Tolbert is going to shine next year, I want the WR.

Luckily, we have FA and the draft, so I’m sure we will address all 3 of those spots along the way.

You don't trade a pick, and Dlaw, for a guy pushing 30.. not in my opinion. You trade Dlaw, then you've got a hole where there wasn't one. It's just not wise. Plus, Dlaw is a leader on the team. I just don't give away my best defensive lineman, to upgrade at CB.

You don't pay premium picks for high salaried non qb players.
