Changes in NY and Philly are best for 'Boys

This situation is the best thing for the 'Boys. Getting the NFC East out of the bottom dwellers of mediocrity. The reason that Jerry, Stephen, and Jason don't think that a 4-12 team is that far away is because they are just comparing our team to the other teams in our division. They are not comparing us to Carolina, AZ, or Seattle.
Parody in the NFL is real and one offseason can make all the difference in the world with the right front office and coaching staff. Both Philly and NY could be dramatically better next year. But I'm concerned if Jerry and the 'Boys can match the front office moves of the other teams.

Keeping Clay is huge. His drafts are the building blocks for our success. But this off season is critical to the next 3 to 4 years if Romo has it in him.

Good point
Though I think jerry might be too senile to notice
Pretty soon they could just tell him we went 12-4 and won the SB with him as GM and he will believe it

I think it's best for the Boys if the rest of the NFC East sucks (and I enjoy that as well), but that's just me.

Yeah, it hasn't hurt the Patriots playing in a terrible division all these years. I prefer the other 3 teams stink.

I hear you. But Belichek and Kraft compare their team to teams outside their division like Indy, Pittsburgh, and Denver - teams they see every yer in the playoffs. Right now our only benchmark is what we see every year in the division.

Who cares about the division. Could the bar be set any lower?

They have a real HC and GM and an owner who does not meddle

Agreed, when Jimmy was here he built his teams to beat the East not just to win the division but because the Commanders and Giants were winning Super Bowls. With Romo's age and injury history, the Jones's would be short sited just aiming for the division, they should be aiming for the Super Bowl and that means Seahawk, Panthers, and Cardinals.

See I don't see it this way. Coughlin is a great coach but they had talent and the last two years were tough. New blood....Seam Payton or someone like that...may be what they need to rejuvenate. It changes year to year so I wouldn't say anything is set in this division.

I just think it's funny how those teams didn't get results and now they're making changes.

They clearly have no interest in distinct advantages. LOL. Go Cowboys.

Watching that joke of a presser from the Giants makes me feel better, I'll say that.

I only caught bits and pieces of it on Twitter--what exactly was the deal?

I did see they put Reece up there, which was funny to me since he is the real suspect in their demise.

The OP is on to something. When was the NFC East a dominant division? When all of the teams in the division were good. They would make one another better. Having to compete within a strong division made the winner of the division that much better. And before 2010, there would be a wildcard entry from the NFC East or at least someone with a chance up until week 17. I saw a stat the other day that there has not been a wildcard team from the NFC East in the last 5 or 6 years. The division being strong from top to bottom made the teams in the playoffs from the East even better in my opinion.

He was great up there.

He took full responsibility for the roster and the issues, but then indicated that he wasn't the only one who had a part in selecting players. He said the coaches were responsible too.

But, he took full responsibility.

I suppose that was Reese woodshedding himself, or something.

It was him falling on the sword, but that little comment about saying he's not the only one who had a part in it was kind of backhanded.
