as a unit they are playing excedingly bad, terrible tackling, newman seems to be hurt, sensabaugh does the hug tackle and gets carried for 3-4 yards and Ball is not even in the game! one tackle as a free safety? come on! can the backups be that much worse!

i agree! y cant BMcCann get more pt. He has def deserved it. yet another HUGE TD return amazing.

Return skills have nothing to do with playing defensive back.

He made a nice play against the Giants, but besides that, the Giants completed every pass against McCann (total of eight I believe).

He still has work do.

Sensabaugh and Ball aren't quality starters in the league. I really doubt either is back next year.

Hopefully one safety is Church next year and the other is AOA, a draft pick or a FA.

McCann looks like a 4th CB to me. I don't know if he is going to get much better in coverage. He plays hard, tackles okay and does a nice job on returns.

If you allow 338 yards against shaun hill and the detroit lions something is very wrong!

Ball is currently the 4th best cb on the team. So even if he is replaced at safety (AOA please) he still can have a place on the team.

Guys, just remember McCann is an undrafted rookie. Just give him time & a chance. He'll be stronger next year after working out in our offseason conditioning program. He'll also has plenty of opportunities in the various workouts in the offseason to really learn the CB as it needs be played in the NFL.

McCann brings more to the table with his return ability and has more potential than Ball at CB.

Alas, our weakness in the secondary has been magnified greatly by our failure to generate consistent pass pressure.

I think the Saints put the dagger in us. I loved today's game. But the competition was weak. We won't see that with Payton's crew.

He would also make a better FS than ball, but let's not go there.

Unlike the Giants, the Saints won't be looking past us.

But you never know ... if JC really is to be our next HC, this is a game he's gotta win to prove he's made of Cowboy metal.

why not keep all 5?

I don't think Ball is worth keeping next year. He has maxed out as a player and is nothing special. 5th CB should be a developmental position and ST player. If they like what they see out of the CBs the rest of the season and like McCann and Teddy Williams on the PS, maybe that's the five we go with next season.

Safety is a bigger need than CB, IMO.
