Im no expert either but I believe there is an exemption for vets who played so many years.

"All players with less than four years of accrued service time have to clear waivers before the trade deadline (after said deadline all players must clear them) before they can become an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any team of their choice."

so i'm not sure if this guy qualifies but i do know this if that's not a problem his deal might be ie big contract...

I guess but most contract have guarantees set for beginning of the next season like Gallup has so you have till then to decide. Haven’t looked at this deal

If we claimed him he would count $1.1 million against the CAP this year. Next year he has a $7.5 million salary but it is not guaranteed. If you think he can help the team then put a waiver claim on him. $1.1 million is not a lot and we can always cut him prior to 2024. We can always boot Neville Gallimore to open a roster spot. 2023 stats for both players
