Once upon a time ago, 70% of Zoners PREFERRED Turner/Cottrell over Wade...

"Ted Cottrell seems to make the Chargers "D" weaker"

"Norv Turner - offensive genious - has 28 total points"

I did not like the hiring of Norv Turner when it happened and this game is the reason. IMO Marty would have had our team better prepared for this game.

The players are also to blame but they have looked flat. The offense (number 1 in scoring last year) has not looked good yet either in this game or the last.

I wish Marty was still here. My.02

im kinda missing our old coach marty now...he was great at motivating the team...i cant see norv emotionally yelling at his players to step it up like marty did. lol the only problem was that he didnt know how to win playoff games.

Not like SD played the 2 easiest defenses in the league. Bears/Patriots.

I do agree with that, but I also think Marty Schottenheimer would have had better results.

Agreed. It's way too early for those fans to panic.

I have to say, though, that I was EXTREMELY happy that JJ hired Wade instead of Norv. I said at the time that it will be very interesting to see how the records of each team compare to their respective records from last year. Chargers were 14-2 last year? Can they equal that this year?

My expectation was our record would improve and theirs would decline?

Of course, it's too early for us to assume our record will improve from last year, but barring more injuries, I like our chances.

Do remember, that LT has had great success running against the pats in past years, and they were at home against the Bears.

I got to feel bad for San Diego starting out with NE and Chi defenses to contend with. Losing against those two teams isn't necessarily a sign that there are problems. They just got a sick schedule to start out with. Man. Who do they play next week? The Colts?

Last night Pats overwhelmed Chargers, it wasn't even close to being a contest. The Chargers looked confused and unsure of themselves and I attribute lot of that on the HC.

Chargers made a huge mistake by firing Marty, Norv Turner is a great OC but as a HC, not so much. I am glad he isn't the HC of the Cowboys.

The Chargers from last season would have clobberred the Bears and hung tough with the Colts. They probably still would have been 1-1, but they would have looked like a much better team.
